Butterfield was the first bank in Bermuda to introduce online banking services in 2001. Over the past decade, we ve continued to improve the online banking tools available to you through Butterfield Direct, adding features and enhancing security. Later this year, we ll be launching Butterfield Online the next generation of online banking from Butterfield as a replacement for Butterfield Direct. Butterfield Online is packed with powerful and convenient features. To help you familiarise yourself with the features and navigation of Butterfield Online, we ve developed comprehensive online tours and how to videos, available at www.bm.butterfieldgroup.com/preview. Enclosed, for your reference, are hard copies of those tours and videos. We encourage you to review this document and the online reference materials at your convenience. Butterfield Online - Tours: Our New Look To better serve you, we ve upgraded our internet banking system, now called Butterfield Online. This upgrade includes: - a new look that is designed to enhance your online banking experience - and a clean and improved layout for better navigation Page 1 of 46

Butterfield Online - Tours: Our New Look (continued) New features have also been added to enhance your real-time experience, such as the ability to sort account details and process multiple transfers at once, thus providing you with additional tools to meet your electronic banking needs. See New Features in the tour section. To use Butterfield Online, you will be required to complete a one-time set-up. See Required Setup in the tour section. Page 2 of 46

Butterfield Online - Tours: Required Setup Butterfield s online banking service has been upgraded! You are required to complete a few easy steps to setup your account. Please see the Butterfield Assistant window to the left for tips and help information. Step 1: Enter your user ID that you normally use to access Butterfield Direct and click Continue. Page 3 of 46

Butterfield Online - Tours: Required Setup (continued) Step 2: Enter your password (and for RSA security token users, your digital token code) as you normally would to use Butterfield Direct and click Continue. Step 3: As part of the new Butterfield Online system, you re required to set a new password. Your new password must contain at least one number and at least one capital letter and be a minimum of 8 characters in length. Select a password you will remember. Page 4 of 46

Butterfield Online - Tours: Required Setup (continued) Enter your new password, re-type the password and click Continue. Step 4: For non-token users, as part of the new Butterfield Online enhanced security feature, you re now required to pick and answer 5 security questions. You must select 5 different questions, don t worry if you make a mistake, you ll be prompted to correct your selection if you do. Please select and answer five questions and click Submit. Congratulations! Your setup is complete. You are now logged into the new Butterfield Online. Page 5 of 46

Butterfield Online - Tours: New Features Butterfield Online has a host of new features to ensure your real-time, online banking experience is convenient and useful. Sign in and see all of your accounts on one screen, from chequing, savings, term deposits and investments to mutual funds and loans. Any new accounts opened will automatically be added to your profile. Sort account details, Page 6 of 46

Butterfield Online - Tours: New Features (continued) request a cheque stop payment or process multiple transfers at once. For your convenience, you can also view 6 months of account history. These are just a few of the enhancements to the new Butterfield Online! Page 7 of 46

Butterfield Online - Tours: User Overview Upon login you will start at My Services - Bulletins, where notices from Butterfield are displayed. You can view and send messages to Butterfield and set preferences here. The Dashboard displays transaction history by status or currency. Page 8 of 46

Butterfield Online - Tours: User Overview (continued) In Accounts you can view all your account balances from chequing, savings, investments and mutual funds. View account details and activity. The Account History option displays account transactions from the old Butterfield Direct online banking system. From Bill Payments, you can register a payee and pay bills. From Credit Cards you can view current activity and statements. The Beneficiaries menu option is a time saving feature. Here you create beneficiary accounts and set up templates once. This is very useful for recurring transactions, such as monthly payments. These templates can be shared amongst various types of transaction requests, including wires, internal transfers, transfers to other local banks and standing instructions. Page 9 of 46

Butterfield Online - Tours: User Overview (continued) From Transfers you can transfer funds between your Butterfield accounts, to another Butterfield account holder or to another bank in Bermuda. You may also transfer to multiple accounts at once. Wire Transfer lets you send funds internationally. Pending Transfer and Payments, displays any pending transfer and payments. Standing Instruction lets you view or cancel any standing instructions you may have set up. Page 10 of 46

Butterfield Online - Tours: User Overview (continued) From Bank Drafts you can order a bank draft and indicate the date and the location of the Banking Centre you d like to collect it from. From Fixed Deposits, you can view all your fixed deposits and check on any activity. From Cheques, you can request cheque books, request stop payments or check the status of a single cheque or a range of cheques. Customer Requests allow you to submit and check the status of a request with Butterfield. Page 11 of 46

Butterfield Online - How To: View Accounts Upon selecting the Accounts tab you will see options to view your accounts by: Account Summary, Account Details, Account Activity, and Legacy Account History. The Account Summary screen gives you a complete overview of your Butterfield accounts. Here you can view every account you have at Butterfield from chequing, savings, term deposits, mutual funds and loans, all on the same screen. Account balances are shown in the currency of the account. With Butterfield Online, you can view accounts in Canadian, Bermuda and US dollars, as well as Pounds Sterling. Page 13 of 46

Butterfield Online - How To: View Accounts (continued) To view balances for your accounts in a particular currency, select the View equivalent balance in currency tab, choose a desired currency and click Go. The equivalent balances are shown under the BMD Equivalent column. Account Details gives you a complete overview of a particular account. Here you can view current balances, Page 14 of 46

Butterfield Online - How To: View Accounts (continued) deposited cheques waiting to be cleared and your overdraft limit. To view the transactions for the account select Account Activity. Account Activity gives you the ability to view the transactions for a particular account. You have the ability to search by date and transaction type and sort the results by date and order. You can also specify a dollar range. You may also download the results in an Excel or pdf format. Not all of your information will be transferred to the new online system. Therefore, you may view past transactions from the previous online system, by selecting Legacy Account History. Here you will be able to view up to 6 months of old transactions. Page 15 of 46

Butterfield Online - How To: Bill Payments The Bill Payments section allows you to pay local companies that have direct bill pay with Butterfield. In order to pay a bill for the first time, you must register the payee (meaning the recipient who is being paid). This only needs to be completed once. Let s register a payee, click Register Payee. Select Add New Payee. Page 17 of 46

Butterfield Online - How To: Bill Payments (continued) Select Customer which refers to your account. Select a payee from the drop down list you would like to register to your account. For this example, let s register Bermuda Gas & Utility Company. A reference is required. Be sure to use the account number assigned to you by the payee and double-check to ensure it is correct. 123412 Click Submit. 123412 Verify the information. Butterfield Online - How To: Bill Payments (continued) The payee has been registered. Let s pay a bill. In this example we are paying Bermuda Gas & Utility Company. Click Pay Bill. Step 1: You can pay now or at a later date. Let s pay now. If you pay at a later date you can view the payment in the Pending Transfers and Payments section. Step 2: Select Customer which refers to your account. Select a payee. This example will be Bermuda Gas & Utility Company. Select an account to pay from. Enter payment amount. Select currency. It is a good idea to enter memo details, as this will help you keep track of your transactions. Click Submit. Page 19 of 46

Butterfield Online - How To: Beneficiaries and Templates Pre-set beneficiaries and templates are helpful for recurring transactions. This feature will save you time when funds have to be sent to the beneficiary. To set up a beneficiary click Beneficiaries on the menu along the left-hand side of your screen. Click Add New in the Beneficiary Maintenance screen. Enter Beneficiary name and their e-mail address (optional). In this example we will use Joe the Handyman. Select the user that the beneficiary will be used by, and click Submit. Page 21 of 46

This will take you to a Status Message stating the new beneficiary was created successfully. You may add a template now or at a later time. Let s add a template now. Lets say the beneficiary, Joe the Handyman, cuts your lawn every month and he wants payment made to another bank located in Bermuda. Enter a template name, in this case Lawn Service. Select Transaction Type Domestic Fund Transfer (see Transfers and Wire Transfer in the How To section for more details). Page 22 of 46

Butterfield Online - How To: Beneficiaries and Templates (continued) Enter the beneficiary s address and payment details. Note: You will need to know the beneficiary s account number and bank name. Click Add when complete. Review and confirm or change the information. When all is correct, select Confirm. Page 23 of 46

Butterfield Online - How To: Beneficiaries and Templates (continued) This will take you to a Status Message stating the new template was created successfully. Here s a tip: You may add different templates to a beneficiary account, for example, creating a Internal Transfer template to pay Joe in his Butterfield account for other services such as painting, or set up a template to pay at a different time. Let s transfer funds to a beneficiary. In this example we will use Joe the Handyman for lawn service, previously set up (see Beneficiaries in the How To section). Click on Transfers and select Domestic Funds Transfer, as Joe s lawn service template was set as paying another local bank. Note: Beneficiaries can have multiple templates. You just have to select the most appropriate type for your transaction. Select Transfer to Existing Beneficiary. Select the beneficiary and payment template, which in this example is Joe the Handyman and Lawn Service. As you can see the information automatically fills the page from the existing beneficiary and template. You can modify all the information here and select a payment schedule. Page 24 of 46

Butterfield Online - How To: Beneficiaries and Templates (continued) Let s say you have taken a one-year contract with Joe, in which you have to pay the first day of each month for the lawn service and elect to pay him automatically. Select Standing Instruction. Select the Transfer Frequency. In this case Monthly, first transfer date and last transfer date respectfully. Click Submit. Page 25 of 46

Butterfield Online - How To: Beneficiaries and Templates (continued) Change or Confirm the information. Upon selecting Confirm, the standing instruction will be initiated with Butterfield. You may print the confirmation page for your records. You have now completed the process on how to pay an existing beneficiary and set up a standing instruction. You can view or modify your standing instructions in the Standing Instructions section. Page 26 of 46

Butterfield Online - How To: Transfers The Transfers section refers to sending funds locally within Bermuda. Under Transfers you have the following options: Own Account Transfer refers to transferring funds between your Butterfield accounts. Internal Transfer refers to transferring funds to another Butterfield account holder. Page 27 of 46

Butterfield Online - How To: Transfers (continued) Domestic Funds Transfer refers to sending funds to another local bank in Bermuda. Multiple Accounts Transfer allows funds to be transferred to multiple Butterfield or other local bank accounts at once from one or multiple accounts. To transfer to another of your Butterfield accounts select Own Account Transfer. To transfer to another Butterfield holder select Internal Transfer. Step 1: Select a beneficiary and the payment template or new payment. Page 28 of 46

Butterfield Online - How To: Transfers (continued) Step 2: Select when to pay, let s pay later, and pick a future date. Step 3: Select an account where funds will be taken from. Enter an amount either in the From Amount or To Amount fields. Select an account to pay to. f you are making an internal transfer, you need to know the beneficiary s account number at Butterfield. A currency is also required in either the debit accounts or credit accounts currency. Enter a reference for yourself and the beneficiary. Click Submit. Change or confirm the information. Butterfield Online - How To: Transfers (continued) Upon selecting Confirm the transfer will be initiated with Butterfield. You may print the confirmation page for your records. To complete a Domestic Funds Transfer, you will need to know the Beneficiary s name, address, his or her local bank s name and his or her account number with that bank. If the beneficiary has already been set up with a domestic funds transfer template, the transfer will be easy. For this exercise we will do a new payment. Step 1: Select New Payment. Page 30 of 46

Butterfield Online - How To: Transfers (continued) Step 2: Enter beneficiary s name and address. The address field is optional. Step 3: Select when to pay. Step 4: Select an account from which funds will be taken. Enter To Amount (the amount the beneficiary will receive), transfer currency, user and beneficiary reference. Step 5: Enter the beneficiary s account number and select his or her bank s name. Be sure to double-check the account number. Click Submit. Page 31 of 46

Butterfield Online - How To: Transfers (continued) Change or confirm the information. Upon selecting Confirm the transfer will be initiated with Butterfield. You may print the confirmation page for your records. You have now sent funds to another bank in Bermuda. To make a transfer from and to multiple accounts, select Multiple Accounts Transfer. Step 1: Select From Single Account or From Multiple Accounts. Page 32 of 46

Butterfield Online - How To: Transfers (continued) Step 2: Select when to pay. Step 3: Select an account to pay from. (Note: If you have selected From Multiple Accounts in Step 1, the From Account will appear in the table just below). Select type of transfer: Internal or Domestic. Enter Beneficiary s account number and name, transfer amount and currency. For internal funds transfer, the currency selected should be the currency of the credit account. If you are making a Domestic transfer, select the name of the bank that funds are being sent to. To add another account to pay to, click Add More and enter the details. Page 33 of 46

Butterfield Online - How To: Transfers (continued) A user and beneficiary reference is required. Click Save, to save the information entered as a template. In the future, select that template to complete a similar transfer. Click Submit then change or confirm the information. Upon selecting Confirm the transfer will be initiated with Butterfield. Butterfield Online - How To: Wire Transfers Before you get started you will need to know the Beneficiary s payment information such as IBAN or account number, full name, address and bank details for a wire transfer. If you ve already set up the beneficiary to receive a wire transfer in the Beneficiaries section, initiating the wire transfer will be straightforward. Let s get started. To initiate a wire transfer, select Wire Transfers. Step 1: Select beneficiary and associated template if you have already set up the beneficiary to receive wire transfers; otherwise, it will be considered a New Payment. In this example we will select New Payment. Select beneficiary s IBAN or account number and enter his or her details. Enter beneficiary name and address. In this example the wire transfer will be paying university fees. Page 35 of 46

Butterfield Online - How To: Wire Transfers (continued) Step 2: Select when to pay. Let s pay now. Step 3: Select the account the funds are to be drawn from, the amount and currency. Inclusive of charges option takes the banking charges from the From Amount entered. To Amount is the amount deposited into the beneficiary s account. Lets transfer $2000 US dollars to a beneficiary s account. Will use the To Amount. Step 4: In certain cases, wiring funds from Butterfield to a beneficiary s account at another bank will involve the use of an intermediary bank. This information will need to be entered into the beneficiary s banking details. For this example we will jump to step 5, as the set up process is the same. Page 36 of 46

Butterfield Online - How To: Wire Transfers (continued) Step 5: From the beneficiary s banking details, it will state either SWIFT or National Clearing. Lets select SWIFT. Click Search Swift Code. The Swift Code Search window appears, enter bank name and swift number. Once located select the bank. The information will appear in step 5. Page 37 of 46

Butterfield Online - How To: Wire Transfers (continued) Step 6: Although it is optional, it s a good idea to enter payment details, as this will help you to keep track of your transactions. Step 7: It is also a good idea to enter Sender to Receiver Information details, as this will aid the beneficiary to identify what the wire transfer is for. Click Submit. Verify the wire transfer information. Make changes or confirm the information. Page 38 of 46

Here s a tip: If you scheduled to pay the wire transfer at a later date, you can view the transaction in the Pending Transfer and Payments section. Page 39 of 46

Butterfield Online - How To: My Services In the new Butterfield Online, your starting point after login will be the Bulletins page under the My Services tab. Here you will see important news and general information posted by Butterfield. Also, new mail messages in your Butterfield Online Inbox will be available here. Your Mailbox, allows you to compose, send and receive messages on bankingrelated issues to Butterfield. To compose message, click Compose. Page 40 of 46

Butterfield Online - How To: My Services (continued) Step 1: Select a category. Step 2: Select a subject. Enter comments and click Submit. If you have an external e-mail address registered with the bank, you can choose to be notified via e-mail that your message has been answered and is available to be viewed in your Butterfield Online inbox. Select Sent to view all sent messages. Page 41 of 46

Butterfield Online - How To: My Services (continued) To review the message, click the link. Select Inbox to view any return messages from Butterfield. To review the message, click the link. Alerts allow you to set an Account Balance Alert on your accounts. Page 42 of 46

Check Account Balance Alert, enter an e-mail address where the alert should be sent, then enter the amount. If your account balance drops below this amount an e-mail alert will be sent. Select Submit. Review your information and click Back to change or Confirm to finish the setup. Under Preferences, you may set nicknames for your accounts. For example: Household expenses, US Savings, etc. Page 43 of 46

Butterfield Online - How To: Password & Security Question Updating At Butterfield, protecting our customers informaiton is a top priority. Token security users online access is secured through the use of a password and a digital token code. For customers who do not use security tokens, your online access is secured with the use of a password and security questions. Changing your password and/ or security questions periodically will help enhance your account security. To change your password, sign into Butterfield Online, click on the Change Password button in the upper right of the screen and follow the steps. Page 45 of 46

To change, enter your ID and Password. On the security question page, answer the question and also select Reset Security Questions. After clicking Submit, you will be directed to a page instructing you to select and answer five new security questions. Page 46 of 46
