The accomplishment of these tasks requires linguistic, discursive, cultural and professional skills. These will be learned through a wide range of class activities: analyzing written and oral texts, exercising on grammatical, lexical or discursive structures, implementing newly acquired skills in role-plays or broader simulations, etc.) The prompts used for the various class activities consist for the most part in authentic documents selected and gathered from various sources (audio-visual broadcasts or printed press, Internet, etc.) found in everyday life or in a more professional environment. Successful learning requires personal involvement: participants should be prepared to invest sufficient time and energy during the class as well as in the personal assignments regularly given by the French instructors in between classes. 6 7

Lunch and dinner are self-organized by the student. There are plenty of restaurants, bistros and snack bars in the vicinity of the French language Centre. Living costs: approximately 100 per day for accommodation, dinner and local transportation (RATP Navigo weekly transportation card: 21.25 or 14.10 for 10 tickets). testimonials Andrzej (Polish, MSc International Finance student): French School was a great way to get immersed into life in France and bond with classmates before the official start of the program. Amazing from both educational and social point of view! Maria Lorena (Colombian, MSc Sustainability and Social Innovation): Very good! I had learnt French in High school but never practiced after that. These two weeks were perfect for remembering everything I had learnt and encouraged me to keep studying during the Master. Mayato (Japanese, Master in Management student): The French School was a fantastic learning experience. Despite it being such a short term, I felt that my competency in French had grown a lot. At the beginning of the course, I could barely speak or understand French. However, at the end of course, I could introduce myself well and have a short conversation with native French people. Besides, the one-day field trip was really interesting. Instead of visiting famous tourist spots, we visited locally known places and learned from deeply rooted French culture. Thomas (Irish, MSc International Finance student): It was a great way to immerse myself into the French culture and meet fellow classmates before arriving on campus. I highly recommend it. 10 11
