GE Health have 3 product design studios, one in North America, one in Europe and the one we will visit in Shanghai. We will hear about working with local resource for global products from the head of the studio. This will cover market identification and segmentation, the benefits and challenges of diverse teams and the Chinese market. We also have an industry panel on Tuesday either before or after this company visit. The panel will include PWC, BristolMeyerSquibb and an entrepreneur.

3 Wed 9 July 2014 Morning KingClean Electric company visit (details below) Established in 1995, and still privately owned, KingClean now manufactures over 11 million appliances for export annually and employs over 6,500 people. We will visit their product centre, including testing facilities, the factory (including assembly and component manufacturing) and then hear about how they work with their clients, who include Electrolux, Hoover, Vax and Godfreys. This company is a successful demonstration of today's China: young, dynamic and internationally focused. Marvel in awe at the sheer magnitude and scale of construction as the wall snakes its way over mountains and valleys into the distance. If you don't feel quite up to the climb, there is a chairlift available at an extra cost.
