On-Campus Housing Under the TFRB (tuition/fee/room/board) agreement, you are eligible for a single room in Tower Village. Tower Village is where the International House is located. Most exchange students at UNCG choose to live on-campus due to its tremendous convenience, diversity of accommodations, and general value. If you would like to live in a different residence hall, please [email protected] for additional details. For more detailed information about housing options visit: On- campus housing is competitive and students should submit their housing applications as soon as possible once admitted. Please read the directions carefully regarding applying for on-campus housing. You should register for housing as soon as possible. Most vaccinations cost between $15 and $25. Medical Facilities There is a full-service university infirmary on campus providing medical services. There is also a counseling center with counselors and psychologists on staff.
5 Insurance U.S. Government regulations require international students to have sufficient medical insurance coverage to participate on an exchange to the United States. UNCG international exchange students are required to have health insurance. Students may purchase the UNCG health insurance plan or submit proof of their own non-uncg health insurance that satisfies the U.S. Department of State requirements outlined below: Medical benefits of at least $100,000 per person per accident or illness Repatriation of remains in the amount of at least $25,000 Medical Evacuation coverage in the amount of at least $50,000 A deductible not to exceed $500 per accident or illness Confirmation that your plan will cover expenses incurred while outside your home country Certain inside limits cannot be accepted (ex. prescription coverage of only $100 per year) Students will receive detailed information on the UNCG insurance option and waiver option once they are accepted as exchange students to UNCG. *ISEP participants purchase their insurance through ISEP Payment Cash and US paper check payments may be made in person at the Cashiers and Student Accounts Office, 151 Mossman Building. The University of North Carolina at Greensboro no longer accepts credit card payments for student account balances over the phone, in person, by mail, or by fax. Credit card payments for student account balances are only available online. PayPath, a third party payment service, will accept credit card payments on behalf of the University via the online Student Account Center. As part of this service, PayPath will add a 2.75% service fee to the total payment made by credit card. PayPath accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. For more information, please visit the Cashier s website at the following address: Miscellaneous Information Local Transportation: Like many U.S. cities, Greensboro does not have an extensive public transportation system (there is limited bus service). Greensboro is an automobile town, with most domestic students getting around by car. Few international students choose to buy a car for their studies at UNCG. The UNCG Campus and surrounding area are serviced by HEAT (Higher Education Area Transit); this service is free to students. Routes and schedules for HEAT and Greensboro Public Transportation can be found at or respectively. Employment: Exchange students are eligible to work on-campus up to 20 hours per week when classes are in session; 40 hours per week during holiday periods. Questions?
