There are 12 possible starting dates per year. This will enable you to develop your language skills and combine any number of courses to create a systematic language-learning program. At the start of your course we will ask you about your individual learning goals and follow up with ongoing support during the learning process. This results in tight integration of the classroom lessons, selfstudy activities and practice. At all levels you also have the option of taking one of our examinations, which are recognized around the world. For participants who only have two weeks and want to activate their German language skills. You will take part in an Intensive 4 course for two weeks. At the start of your course we will ask you about your individual learning goals and follow up with ongoing support during the learning process. This results in tight integration of the classroom lessons, self-study activities and practice. VARIO one week or longer max. class size: 16 approx. 25 units per week price information on request If your schedule does not permit attendance for an entire course, you may join an ongoing Intensive 4 course that matches your level. The minimum duration is one week, and you can start any week. Beginners can join only at the start of courses. Our attractive cultural and leisure-time program will give you the opportunity to learn German while really getting to know Germany. The course includes a daytrip on the weekend. See Hamburg from the water on an Alster boat tour. Visit places that define this city, such as the fish market and the Speicherstadt warehouse district. On our walking tours you ll learn about literary Hamburg. A weekend excursion will take us to Bremen or Lübeck cities with a Hanseatic heritage. 5 Evening courses Evening courses GERMAN IN THE EVENING A1 B2 eight weeks UI (9 UI per week) max. class size: Lesson times Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:30 9:00 p.m. Are you living in Germany and interested in improving your German? Or would you like to learn German after work? Our Deutsch am Abend evening-time German courses offer you efficient language training with plenty of variety. At every Goethe-Institut you ll find qualified advice and course placement, the latest teaching and learning materials, classrooms with modern equipment and communicative teaching at all levels designed to meet the needs of the target group. PERFECT YOUR GERMAN Level C1 and above twelve weeks UI (3 UI per week) max. class size: Lesson times Tuesdays, 6:30 9:00 p.m. For participants with good to excellent German skills who wish to gain a broader and deeper knowledge of the language. A placement test and individual consultation is required before starting the course. It is possible to book a partial course, subject to availability. 8 9

8 SPECIAL COURSES FOR PROFESSIONALS SPECIAL COURSES FOR PROFESSIONALS GERMAN COMMUNICATION TRAINING FOR DOCTORS on request Our communication training is designed for doctors and medical professionals. This course is suitable for you if you have been working for some time in Germany or are about to begin a residency to train as a specialist at a German hospital. The course will enhance your communication and intercultural skills for the clinical working environment. You will learn new medical and pharmaceutical vocabulary terms, German colloquial expressions for diseases and organs, various forms of clinical documentation, and the correct style for writing physician s reports. We practice patient conversations with you, for example, in taking down medical histories and examination situations. Additional topics are the German healthcare system, hospital organizations, introducing patients, diagnostic equipment, case presentations, preparation and presentation of expert lectures, and preparing a job application.
