In addition to our prestigious Grande École Master s program, EM Strasbourg Business School launched a new Bachelor s degree in International Affairs in This 3-year undergraduate program trains students to become responsible managers, specifically in the area of international business. The program prepares students for positions in International Commerce and Marketing. The completion of the degree can be used as a springboard to undertake a Master s degree in International Business. Among the principal objectives of the program, is the promotion of international mobility for students. The international dimension consists of a three-month study abroad exchange focusing on upgrading linguistic competencies in an international partner university in the first year. In the second year, students complete a semester of international business modules taught in English with other international students on campus in Strasbourg. The third year provides students the opportunity to study abroad for a year in one of our 13 international partner universities. This affords us the opportunity to host in return, international students on site in Strasbourg. The following list details some of the courses offered at EM Strasbourg Business School. While the actual courses taught may vary from year to year, this list provides a good sense of the kind of French language and civilization courses available: Beginner s French To learn the basics of the French language: pronunciation, grammar and spoken French. Intermediate French Reinforcement of one s written and spoken French language skills with an emphasis on effective communication. French Grammar and Conversation To become familiarized with everyday French so that the student can understand and be understood satisfactorily for the purposes of day-to-day life, in both professional and social settings. Business French To develop communication skills in French with a special emphasis on acquiring specialized commercial vocabulary, internalizing proper forms of conduct in business situations. French Literature Intellectual and cultural enrichment by introducing students to the work of principal authors from the 18th to the 20th century. Special attention will be given to the historical context and the place of each work in the evolu tion of ideas and culture. To further develop the skills of oral and written expression.

4 Exchange program in the Bachelor s Degree in International Affairs The Bachelor s Degree in International Affairs, awarded by the University of Strasbourg (EM Strasbourg Business School) focuses on areas of international business and prepares students for positions in International Commerce and Marketing. Classes, offered in English and/or French, are taken in conjunction with French students and are taught by EM Strasbourg Business School professors. The teaching staff includes both academics and professionals. Study program The study program of the Bachelor s Degree in International Affairs is divided into three years. Each year is worth 60 ECTS credits (30 ECTS credits/ semester). Exchange students can choose from classes in any of those years provided that they fulfill language requirements and course prerequisites. Eligibility Students currently enrolled at partner universities must have completed at least two years of study in Business. In addition, they must demonstrate a sufficient mastery of the language of instruction in order to enroll in classes at EM Strasbourg Business School (level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). All tuition fees must be paid to the home institution. Proof of medical insurance is necessary. The application deadline for Fall Semester or full year is May 31st and for Spring Semester is October 31st. The length of the exchange period can be either one semester or one academic year. Language Resource Centre (CRL) The Language Resource Centre is a multilingual and multicultural place offering a large variety of resources in different foreign languages such as DVDs, CD-Roms, videos, podcasts, as well as dictionaries, magazines and reference books. EM Strasbourg Business School is just a short 10-minute tram or bikeride from the city center. The Esplanade district offers comprehensive facilities, including shops and services, fast-food restaurants and parks. Libraries The school hosts the largest economics and management library in the East of France with 40,000 publications specializing in administration, finance, management, marketing and economics. Sport You will find your favorite sport among the 60 sports activities offered by the SUAPS (University Sports Service) situated at the heart of the Esplanade Campus. EM Strasbourg Spirit: Student Clubs Extra-curricular activities are an integral part of the school program. Twelve student organizations come under the EM Strasbourg Spirit umbrella, offering different types of services for students such as: Arts Club, Jobs Service, Press Club and Multimedia Club.

5 Dual Degree Programs EM Strasbourg Business School has specific agreements for dual degrees with a number of partner universities. The dual degree programs allow students to obtain a Bachelor s Degree in International Affairs from EM Strasbourg Business School in addition to their home university s degree. Classes, offered in English and French, are taken in conjunction with French students and are taught by EM Strasbourg professors. The Degree Degree seeking exchange students study at EM Strasbourg Business School for two semesters and complete courses as detailed in the dual degree agreement between EM Strasbourg Business School and their home university. They will have to fulfill both their home university s and EM Strasbourg Business School s requirements to be awarded two degrees upon completion. At EM Strasbourg Business School students will enroll in 6 modules comprising: Intercultural Communication (Fall and Spring semesters), Market Development Strategy, Developing Social and Relational Skills - Building a Professional Project, Engineering Projects in SME s, Building a Professional Project. The list of courses and the modules can be communicated to our partners upon request. Class schedules will be available at the beginning of each semester. BAI Degree Program Director Didier Wehrli didier.wehrli@em-strasbourg.eu The Internship In addition to academic courses, degree seeking exchange students are required to do an internship in a corporate environment. The Corporate Relations Office of EM Strasbourg Business School will help facilitate students in finding their mandatory internship in regional companies. Remuneration is to be discussed with the individual companies, but will generally amount to approximately one third of the S.M.I.C. (French legal requirements for minimum salary). Eligibility Students currently enrolled at dual-degree partner universities must have completed a given number of years of study in Management which may vary according to the program. In addition, they must demonstrate a sufficient mastery of the French language if enrolled in French classes, and of the English language if they are enrolled in English classes. All tuition fees must be paid to the home institution. Proof of European medical insurance is necessary. An Admission Committee will review the applications and select the students. This committee may interview the applicants to assess their knowledge of the French language. Admission Admission to the Bachelor s Degree in International Affairs program is given to students from partner universities based on the following criteria: openness toward other cultures, good language skills and proven academic performance. The language proficiency of the students will be examined and assessed by EM Strasbourg Business School.
