Mariemont City Schools Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Connection Guide To connect to the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure with a Windows computer, follow the step-by-step guide included below. 1. In the address field of your web browser, enter the following: https://citrix.mariemontschools.org 2. Press the Enter key on your keyboard to launch the Mariemont City Schools Citrix Virtual Desktop page.
3. In the Username field, enter the network Username provided to you by the Mariemont City School District. 4. In the Password field, enter the network Password provided to you by the Mariemont City School District.
5. You may see a page that resembles the one below. If, within a few seconds, this page does not automatically continue to another page, click the underlined web link on the web page (the word here) highlighted in blue. 6. If this is the first time you have used the Mariemont City Schools Citrix Virtual Desktop system, you will see a page like the one below. Click the green INSTALL button.
7. Clicking the green INSTALL button on the previous page will take you to the Citrix Downloads page shown below. Under the word Downloads in the green box are three columns. The first column is titled Citrix Receiver in gray followed by a description of what the Receiver does, also in gray. Click the blue web link immediately below the description, labeled Citrix Receiver. 8. You should now see a page like the one below. Click on the blue Download Receiver for Windows button.
9. You should now see the page shown below. You may have to approve the file download in your browser, depending on the browser type and version. In Internet Explorer, it is likely that you will see a yellow bar displayed across the top of the web page, like the one below. If this occurs, approve the file download. In Internet Explorer, simply click the yellow bar and a menu will be displayed. Select Download File from the menu. 10. You should now see a File Download box like the one below. Click the Run button. You may be prompted again to run the Citrix Receiver installation file. Click Run.
11. The Citrix Receiver installation application will start and you will see the following screen. Click the Install button. You will see the progress as the Citrix Receiver is installed on your computer. 12. When the installation is complete, the progress indicator will close. 13. Close all browser windows.
14. Start your web browser, and enter the following into the address bar: Press the Enter key on your keyboard. https://citrix.mariemontschools.org 15. The Mariemont City Schools Citrix Virtual Desktop page will be displayed. 16. In the Username field, enter the network Username provided to you by the School District.
17. In the Password field, enter the network Password provided to you by the School District. 18. You may see a page that resembles the one below. If, within a few seconds, this page does not automatically continue to another page, click the underlined web link on the web page (the word here) highlighted in blue. 19. You will now see the Mariemont City Schools Citrix Virtual Desktop Windows 7 launch page. Click on the MCS Windows 7 icon.
The connection process will begin, and you will be connected to a Windows 7 virtual machine. A blank desktop will be displayed first. Then you will see the profile creation progress. Several steps will be displayed.
20. Then you will be presented with your Windows 7 desktop. You may see a Welcome screen like the one below. If so, click to place a check mark in the box next to Don t show the welcome screen again at the bottom of the window. Then click the Close button. 21. It is very important to Log Off properly, when you are finished using your Windows 7 desktop. When you are ready to Log Off, click the Start button in the bottom left corner of the desktop to display the Start Menu. Then click Log Off. The Windows 7 session will shut down, and the window will close.
