Nitrgen Gas Specificatin Oxygen frm a LOX surce des nt cntain sufficient nitrgen t ensure ptimum perfrmance. An average nitrgen cncentratin f apprximately 2.3 wt% is required and this has t be adjusted depending n the actual perfrmance layut f the zne generatr. Essentially there are three methds dsing nitrgen t the main gas feed t the zne generatr. The methd chsen depends n the size f the plant and the level f peratr cmfrt required: Nitrgen gas frm a high pressure strage cylinder (small applicatins) Nitrgen gas frm a liquid surce (medium / large applicatins) Dry air frm a small cmpressr / dryer unit (medium / large applicatins) Nitrgen gas Nitrgen purity : > 99.996 % vlume (type 4.6) If nitrgen is selected, special attentin must be given t the dew-pint and the hydrcarbn cntent necessitating the use f high purity nitrgen. Dry air It is als pssible t use clean, dry, il-free air. Special attentin must be given t the selectin and design f the cmpressr/ dryer unit. The bject f the cntacting system is t create a large cntact area between the zne cntaining gas and the medium being treated s that there is the highest pssible mass transfer f zne t medium. There are 2 main ways f intrducing zne: Ozne Injectr System: Depending n the service parameters, there are several ways f intrducing zne with an injectr. Hwever, in rder t establish stable cnditins fr the injectr system, Oznia suggests that a small side stream is used as the mtive flw fr an injectr which draws in the zne gas being prduced by the OZAT. An injectr system has the advantage that the system pressure can be maintained and the mass transfer cefficient is very high. 1 Injectr 1 Mtive water pump N.B.: The abve specified cmpnents are typical. Prus Diffuser System Prus diffusers are munted at the bttm f the cntact chamber thrugh which the zne gas can be intrduced as small bubbles: Article N. 1 set Prus diffuser After the mass transfer has taken place, bth systems require a reactin vlume/time t enable the required reactins t take place. Typically, the height f these chambers is between 4-6 metre and the vlume depends n the prcess in questin. Ozne destruct unit Exhaust gases frm a prcess nrmally cntain small amunts f un-reacted zne. Befre this exhaust can be vented t atmsphere it is necessary t decmpse these traces f residual zne. When selecting the vent zne destruct equipment it is essential t ascertain if the cntact chamber is abslutely gas-tight f if there is a pssibility f leakage. If the chamber is un-tight, r if there is dubt regarding the gas-tightness, then it will be necessary t install a vent gas extractin fan.
