JPMORGAN CHASE & CO. Image Deposit Direct SCM 4.0.1.2 Installation Admin Remote Instructions Includes Admin Remote Offline Clean Install Admin Remote Offline Upgrade Install This document is intended to help admin users set up workstations and scanners for use with IDD-ITMS.
Admin Remote Offline Clean Install This section is for installation of the new SCM by IT/Admin groups who manage the software distribution process for their end users. As noted in Step 4 below, communication to end users should be performed instructing them to disconnect their scanner USB prior to running this Remote Install process. All SCM 4.0.1.2 documents can be found on the IDD Resource Center. Important Notes: a. If the IDD user does not scan checks/does not have a desktop scanner attached to their workstation, they may not need the new SCM. To confirm this, the user should not have access to the Deposit tab within the IDD website or should not have the Settings icon (Gear) presented in the Deposit tab (see screen shots on the Installation Overview document). If the user does not scan checks or does not have access to the Deposit tab/settings icon, as described above, then the user does not need to install the new SCM. No action required. b. For existing IDD users who have already uninstalled or removed previous IDD versions 2.0 or 2.2 from their workstation, can download/install the new SCM onto their workstation directly from the IDD website. Please reference the SCM 4.0.1.2 Web Installation Instructions.docx for details. User will require Local Administrator rights. c. Brand new users who do not currently have IDD will automatically receive the new IDD SCM 4.0.1.2 when they go through the implementation process. No action required. d. Additionally, the Altova component is needed for certain data keying scenarios. Install Altova prior to installing the SCM (steps included below). 1. Download the Altova offline installer executable AuthenticBrowserEdition2010-v1.0.1.0.exe from the IDD Resource Center. 2. Download the ITMS offline installer executable ThickWebCab-v4.0.1.2.exe from the IDD Resource Center. 3. Make sure all open web browsers and applications are closed. The SCM might not install correctly if you do not close all open browser windows. 4. Make sure scanner is unplugged from USB connection. Note: It is strongly recommended to notify end users to disconnect scanners prior to software push to their workstations. 5. Open command prompt and navigate to the location of the Altova offline Installer. 6. The Altova Offline installer can be executed in Silent Mode using the switch /s. This will block all normal pop-up messages except for the two prompts to disconnect and then reconnect the scanner during the uninstall portion for the old SCM. For example: C:\users\m000056\Docments\Altova\AuthenticBrowserEdition2010-v1.0.1.0.exe /s. 1 P age
7. Open command prompt and navigate to the location of the ITMS offline Installer. 8. The ITMS Offline installer can be executed in Silent Mode using the switch /s. A specific scanner driver can also be specified by using the command line switch /z. For example: \ThickWebCabv4.0.1.2.exe /s /z Scanner Driver EpsonDriver PaniniDriver RDMDriver 2 P age
The following three screens briefly display. Note: No action from end user is required. Screen One: Screen Two: 3 P age
Screen Three: 9. When installation is complete, the end user must connect the scanner to USB connection prior to logging into ITMS, to allow Windows to recognize the scanner. Note: Remaining steps of this process are performed by the end user. 10. Upon connecting the scanner and selecting OK, the user will see one of the following three Found New Hardware messages in the system tray. 4 P age
11. Log in to ITMS website https://www.itms-online.com and select Deposit tab. 5 P age
12. Select Gear icon Settings. 13. In Settings select the appropriate Scanner Model from the scanner selection drop down and select Save. Note: JPMC certified scanner options are Panini, Epson CaptureOne and RDM EC Series. 6 P age
14. After the scanner drivers have been fully loaded, the end user can perform a test to validate that the SCM has been properly installed. To do this, while still in the Settings pop-up, please place a check or any check-sized document in your scanner then click the Test button. This will cause the system to connect to your scanner and then pull the document through your scanner. The document image will then display in the Settings pop-up. This is only a test scan to validate that the system is able to communicate properly with your scanner the image will not be saved, uploaded or deposited. 15. Once the test scan is complete the end user is ready to continue scanning. 7 P age
Admin Remote Offline Upgrade Install The following process will uninstall the prior version of the IDD SCM (2.0 or 2.2) and will install the new SCM 4.0.1.2. Local Administrator Rights (LAR) are required for the process running this install. This process should be done without the desktop scanner attached to the end user s workstation. Related to the scanner connection, as part of the remote workflow, two prompts are presented on the user s workstation to disconnect and then reconnect the scanner. Two options with dealing with these prompts are described below one where the user is available to respond to the prompts and one where the user may not be available to respond to the prompts. This described process flow should allow the old SCM to be uninstalled and the new SCM 4.0.1.2 to be installed. However, because complicating factors could exist within individual environments, it is strongly recommended that IDD customers test this remote admin process in a non-production environment prior to running this for production workstations. If problems are encountered during this test, please contact JPMC for additional information Note: The workstation has a prior version of SCM installed. LAR is required for the process performing the install. 1. Download the ITMS offline installer executable, ThickWebCab-v4.0.1.2.exe from the Resource Center. 2. Make sure all open web browsers and applications are closed. The SCM might not install correctly if you do not close all open browser windows. 3. Make sure scanner is unplugged from USB. 4. 6. RDM Scanner uninstall screen appears. Important! If end user is not available and Admin can simulate user selecting OK, this flow can also be supported if communication is performed ahead of time to users to ensure scanner is disconnected from USB connection. If end user is available end user should perform both steps 1 and 2 before selecting OK. 7. Uninstall in progress screen appears. 9 P age
8. Successful uninstall window displays, Select OK. 9. The following three screens briefly display. Note: No action from end user is required. Screen One: Screen Two: 10 P age
