PRELIMINARY PROGRAM Thursday, October 15, 2015 2:00 8:00PM NCCP Advanced Competitive Coach Facilitators: David Paradelo and John Csikos The Advanced Competitive Coach course targets coaches of athletes participating in the National Championship League. Throughout this four-day course, coaches will receive advanced training in daily, weekly and annual planning for their athletes; learn to integrate sport science, skill and tactical development into their annual periodization plan and will develop tools and metrics to be able to review and analyze their daily, weekly and annual plans. Additionally, coaches will have the opportunity to take part in all Summit activities. The fees associated with this workshop include coach training, educational tools, coach evaluation, hotel and accommodations and other Summit activities. Pre-requisite: Certified Competitive Coach. An exclusive and inspiring presentation by one of Canada s most dynamic and forward-thinking entrepreneurs. Meet the presenter: Mr. Som Seif, CFA, is the Founder and Director of Purpose Investments Inc., and has been its President and Chief Executive Officer since March 2012. Mr. Seif founded the firm following the sale of Claymore to BlackRock Inc. in March 2012. A pioneer in Canada s financial industry, he was recognized in 2011 for his vision and leadership, receiving from Caldwell Partners International the Top 40 Under 40 award. Mr. Seif is a CFA charter holder. He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science degree with an emphasis on Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Toronto. Throughout the two-day course, referees will receive both classroom training in the advanced rules of water polo and will learn to apply age-appropriate FINA rules to the provincial and national level athletes who they are officiating. Page 4 of 8 Special Session Developing a structure for strategic success Presented by David Patterson, PhD, Canadian Olympic Committee A discussion on the roles of the various elements of the Canadian sport system and on how clubs can work within the system, and with each other, to further the development of their sport, their coaches, athletes and officials. Meet the presenter: Dr. David Patterson has been involved in amateur sport as a leader and administrator for over 20 years. He has been involved in sport in the university, military, in multi-sport Games and as the chief executive of two Canadian National Sport Organizations. Page 5 of 8 AFTERNOON AT SHERATON 1:00PM 5:00PM OTCP Provincial Referee Course (continued from morning) OR 1:00PM 4:00PM Club Excellence Affiliation Workshop Presenter: Kyle Johnston, CCES The Club Excellence program encourages clubs and associations to operate differently, plan ahead for challenges and serve their members more effectively. The various levels, including the Affiliate brand, demonstrate that a club it is committed to proper governance principles, increased financial accountability, promotion of long-term athlete development, and ultimately to offering fair, safe and open sport experiences to all. Club administrators participating in this workshop will have their club earn the Affiliate status, which is a $125 value, built into the Summit registration fees. Additionally, clubs sending two or more participants will benefit from a registration fee reduction on a per capita basis. AFTERNOON AT TPASC 1:30PM 4:00PM Practical sessions block 2 at TPASC Strength training for developing HP athletes in WP Presenter: Alain Delorme, Co-founder of Actiforme and Women s National Team strength trainer Strength training programs for developing high performance athletes, addressing training readiness and minimizing injuries delivered by national team strength and conditioning coach. Drills & skills for developing HP athletes Co-presenters: Alex Beslin and Brian Parillo Live from the pool deck, coaches will be exposed to a drills and skills session for developing high performance athletes, direct from the men s national team arsenal and addressing key drills to implement in the high performance athlete pathway. 4:15PM 4:45PM Guided tour of CSIO facilities followed by transit back to Sheraton (4:45 to 5:30)

Discover the trends and latest research in the field of eliteperformance mental training and preparation, from one of the leading experts on this topic. Sunday, October 18, 2015 8:00AM 9:30AM Keynote and Breakfast Session: Building the Athlete Warrior Presented by John Dunn, Professor, Faculty of Education and Recreation, University of Alberta. STREAM-SPECIFIC SESSIONS: MORNING AT SHERATON Meet the presenter: John Dunn was born and raised in Glasgow, Scotland. He holds a BSc in Sport Science (1987) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (1988) from Loughborough University (England). He completed his MA (1992) and PhD (1998) focusing on sport psychology at the University of Alberta. He now holds the rank of Professor in that same institution. His current research interests primarily focus on the construct of perfectionism in sport and has over 30 publications in various international peer-reviewed sport psychology journals. A forum for coaches and referees coming together to clarify, with the support of National Team game video, the interpretation and implementation of select FINA and NCL rules in the upcoming season. A step towards greater clarity and bridging the gap between the rule interpretations used at the international level and within the domestic leagues.
