Circumstances The post holder is required to structure their work to meet the demands of the service and the artistic programme. Principle duties and responsibilities 1. Direct, manage and develop a safe, efficient and effective Technical Department and associated staff, services, facilities and equipment within the Victoria Theatre involving: electrical, engineering, rigging and lifting, lighting, sound, IT and special effects areas of operation 2. Manage, develop and support all staff working within the Technical Department including setting objectives, conducting appraisals and identifying and managing training and development needs and managing working patterns within legal guidelines 3. Managing and reporting on delegated budgets and income targets relating to the Technical Department activities 4. Nurturing and delivering a pro active culture of high quality, supportive and enabling customer service within the Technical Department to all professional and community users 5. Lead on managing and developing all aspects of Health & Safety policy and practice within the Technical Department and across all other Theatre departments 6. Lead on the relationship with Corporate Assets and Facilities Management Team to support the effective management of the theatre building, facilities, services and equipment 7.
