June 29 and will close on Fri. August 21, 2015. The Port Jervis Recreation Commission will open three (3) Supervised Playgrounds this summer; Church St. Park, Farnum Park and Riverside Park. Church St. Playground will be supervised for 9 weeks! Supervised Playground Hours Monday-Friday 9:00 am- 4:00 pm Children can participate in many activities during supervised playground hours. Activities include street hockey, basketball, softball, kickball, tennis, wiffleball and many more. Board games and card games are also available. All activities are FREE of charge unless otherwise indicated! Special Event Days: Thursdays starting July 9 The Little Chefs at Rec at Farnum Park Wednesdays starting July 1 Bowling at the Youth Center Tuesdays & Thursdays starting June 30 Basketball at Church St. Fridays starting July 10 Softball at Riverside Park Cooking and Bowling will start at 1:00 pm. Basketball and Softball will start at 1:30 pm. Other parks available to the community include Barclay St. Park, Cahoonzie St. Park, Elks-Brox Park (Point Peter) and West End Park. These parks do not have supervised playground hours but offer playground equipment, basketball courts and scenic views of the Tri-State Area! Additional Funding provided by: NYS Office of Children and Family Services through the Orange County Youth Bureau.

SUMMER YOUTH CENTER SCHEDULE (9 weeks) The Youth Center s summer schedule will begin on Monday June 29and end on Friday August 28, 2015. Summer Youth Center Hours Monday-Friday 9:00 am-4:00 pm Children can play video games on our Wii, PS3 and XBOX 360 systems or play ping pong, shuffle board, foosball or play pool. Board games and card games are available. Kids can also watch NETFLIX on our BIG screen TV or bowl in our Basement Bowling Alley. Free WiFi. Youth Center Special Events Mondays beginning July 6 Arts and Crafts Wednesdays beginning July 1 Bowling Day Fridays beginning July 10 Activity Day All Youth Center special events will start at 1:00 pm. Bowling Day participants MUST wear sneakers when bowling. Programs, supplies, and materials are FREE of charge unless otherwise indicated!! All programs and events are subject to change! FREE SUMMER LUNCH PROGRAM Funded by the New York State Ed. Dept. Monday-Friday from July 6 to August 7. Lunches will be delivered to Church St. Park, Farnum Park, Riverside Park and the Youth Center each weekday at 12:00 pm. This program is FREE to Port Jervis School District Students or Port Jervis youth ages of 18 and under!! Children ages 7-18 may sign up at any of the three playgrounds or at the Recreation office. CHILDREN UNDER 7 YEARS OF AGE MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A PARENT OR A BABYSITTER (16 years of age or older) DURING PLAYGROUND AND YOUTH CENTER HOURS!! Permission forms will be distributed to children and need to be returned to Rec. staff. BE PART OF THE FUN

SPORTS CAMPS Soccer Star Camp Train with former Division 1 College Soccer players. Two 1-week camps will be held at the Port Jervis High School for boys and girls ages 6-16. Camp weeks are July 6-10 and July 13-17. COST $80 or $150 for both weeks. Sibling discounts are available. Camp times are 9:00 am -1:00 pm. Lunch (bring own lunch and drink) is 11:00 am -11:30 am. All participants will receive quality instruction focusing on individual skills, tactics and team play. Agility, speed and power training will be covered. All participants receive a camp t-shirt! Registration will be held at the Youth Center June 10, 11 and 15 from 6:00-8:00 pm and also at the Soap Box Derby on June 14. Make checks payable to: Port Jervis Recreation Volleyball Camp This 1-week volleyball camp will be held at the A.S.K. Gym for girls entering grades 5-6-7-8. Camp week is July 20-24. COST is $50 per person. Sibling discounts are available. Camp time is 9:00 am-1:00 pm. Lunch (bring own lunch and drink) is 11:00 am-11:30 am. All participants will receive instruction focusing on individual skills and team play from the Port Jervis Volleyball staff and Varsity players. Girls will learn and improve on passing, setting, striking and serving. Registration will be held at the Youth Center on June 10, 11 and 15 from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm. Late registration will be held on Day 1 of camp- July 20 at the A.S.K. Gym from 8:00 am-9:00 am. Make checks payable to: Port Jervis Recreation Basketball Camp Camp will consist of Drills, Competitions, and Pick-Up Games. Camp will be held at Church St. Park Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 1:30-3:00 pm. For boys and girls ages 8-16. Camp will start on June 30 and end August 18. No pre-registration required. Sign up every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon. This camp is FREE of charge. Tennis Camp Tennis camp will be held at Church St. Park on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9:30 am-12:00 pm. Camp will begin on Tuesday June 30 and end on August 18.. Camp will consist of drills, competitions and games. Participants will learn the rules of the game and how to serve, receive serve and volley. Camp is for boys and girls ages 8-13. No pre-registration required. Sign up every Tuesday and Thursday. This camp is FREE of charge. BE PART OF THE FUN

ACTIVITIES AND SPORTS PROGRAMS Offered daily at the Youth Center and Supervised Playgrounds- Kan Jam, Bean Bag Toss, Foosball, Pickle Ball, Basketball, Wiffleball, Frisbee, and much more will be available each day at the playgrounds. The Youth Center will have the Wii, PS3 and XBOX 360 game systems available along with bowling, arts and crafts, ping pong, air hockey and movies. Co-ed Youth Street Hockey Games are played at Church St. Park every Monday- Wednesday-Friday mornings from 9:30 am-11:30 am. FREE of charge and open to boys and girls ages 7 and up. Street Hockey starts on June 29 and ends on August 12. Co-ed Youth Softball Games are played at Riverside Park every Friday afternoon at 1:30 pm. FREE of charge and open to boys and girls ages 9-13. Co-ed softball starts on July 10 and end on August 14.. Co-ed Youth Track Track events include, 100 meter dash, high jump, shot put, and more. Track is held every Tuesday and Thursday evening at the Port Jervis High School from 6:00pm-8:00 pm. Track begins on July 7 and ends on August 6. FREE of charge and open to boys and girls ages 5 and up. ***SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT*** regarding West End Beach WEST END PARK and BOAT LAUNCH West End Beach will not be open this summer FOR SWIMMING. Swimming is prohibited! River access for rafts, canoes or boats will still be available. Park will be open to play ball, picnic or to enjoy the summer weather.

Farnum Park Concerts The Broome Street Wind Ensemble Band will perform 3 FREE concerts at Farnum Park Monday June 29, July 13 and 27. Concerts will be held 7:00 pm. In case of inclement weather concert will be held at Drew United Methodist Church. Concerts sponsored by Al s Music Shop- Port Jervis NY National Night Out Tuesday, August 4, 2015 @ Riverside Park and Recreation Area. NNO is an annual event that builds communities, generates support for anti-crime programs and strengthens police/community relations. PJ REC Summer Olympics Thursday, August 13, 2015 @ Riverside Park starting at 10:00 am (Rain date- Friday, August 14, 2015). Enjoy a FULL day of games, contests and food and drink!! FREE of Charge. SPECIAL EVENTS - Field Trips NEW YORK YANKEES Baseball Game at Yankee Stadium The New York Yankees vs. Baltimore Orioles. Tuesday July 21, 2015. Game starts at 7:05 pm. Bus departs from public parking lot on Pike street (next to Royal Furniture) at 4:15 pm sharp! Bus will return approximately 12:00 am. Tickets are $60.00 each (includes ticket price and transportation). Seats are Section 331 Rows 1-2-3. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult 18 years of age or older. SCRANTON RAILRIDERS Baseball game in Scranton PA at beautiful PNC Field The Scranton Railriders are the NY Yankees Triple AAA Farm Team. This is the last Minor League level before the Major Leagues. The RailRiders will take on the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (the Philadelphia Phillies Triple AAA Farm Team) on Wednesday August 19, 2015 in a 7:05 pm game. Bus will leave from public parking lot on Pike Street (next to Royal Furniture) at 4:45 pm and return at approximately 12:00 am. Tickets (including transportation) are $20 each. Sorry NO REFUNDS!!!!
