For optimum performance a v.90 56kbps modem or other high speed internet connection (e.g. Broadband) is recommended. Related Documents To assist you with setting up Remote Desktop, it is recommended that the following document be printed off beforehand: Enabling VPN on a XP computer http://its-intra.massey.ac.nz/services/pdfs/using_vpn_windows_xp.pdf Help Please direct any general queries or fault reports to the Information Technology Services (ITS) Help Desk on ext. 5200, or email to help.desk@massey.ac.nz. Please be aware that some faults you may encounter may be due to problems with your own internet connection and, as such, must be resolved by your Internet Service Provider (ISP). Note: disconnecting effectively locks your Massey desktop rather than logging off, so when you return to your work machine it will show as locked and you will need to ctrl+alt+del to log back on. You can also choose to log off completely by selecting Log Off from within the Remote Desktop session. 5. To reconnect to Massey VPN, follow steps listed under Step 3 Connecting to Massey VPN IMPORTANT: The Massey VPN connection speed will only be as good as the internet connection you re using. If you are on dial-up we would advise you to use Remote Access because using Remote Desktop via VPN will be extremely slow and could become frustrating to use. Page 7 of 7
