THE JOB: TV Show Production Assistant (Gaming Industry) (Trainee) The Wonderworld Entertainment Group produces the TV Show Worldwide Gaming for Australian and international distribution. We are looking for staff interested in following a career path through the Television Production Industry and the Computer and Console Gaming industry. Although experience is not necessary for this position you must have a strong passion for the various aspects of the gaming industry and strong interest in video production. The company will provide all the training and mentors to assist you through your traineeship. You will be introduced to the current industry software for production over Free to Air and Pay TV Networks. You will receive training in audio editing, video game capture, game design, sound production, asset managementgame reviewing, game consoles, lighting and many aspects associated with a video gaming television production. After successfully completing the initial period of training, having gained an understanding of the background and techniques utilised in video games, you will have the opportunity to participate in the production of the TV Show and your work will be recognised in the credits of the show. This qualification may earn credits towards your VCE or VCAL qualification and it requires attendance at the company's local studio for work & training for one day per week during the school term, with additional block release training during some school holidays. At the end of your traineeship you will have the foundation skills to pursue further training for a career in various industries such as Film, Television, Sound, Editing, Game Design, Graphic Art, Internet and more. INTRODUCTION The School Based Apprenticeship (SBAT) program offered by Wonderworld Games provides Year 10, 11 and 12 students the opportunity to study Certificate III in Printing and Graphic Arts (Multimedia) while completing their high school certificates. This course is the pathway into the Certificate IV in epublishing or Printing and Graphic Arts and the Diploma of Printing and Graphic Arts. On completion of the Certificate III your career path could be that of a Multimedia Developer or Technician, Content Author, Electronic Publisher, Website Designer or Publisher.
TRAINING IS PROVIDED BY A REGISTERED TRAINING ORGANISATION All training is provided at the workplace, students do not need to attend any other external institution. Training Institute of Australia (your RTO) provides all students with: Tried and tested delivery of its multimedia program over the past nine years. Access to experienced trainers with 18 years experience Workplace experience designing and producing content in a business environment A Nationally Accredited Qualification RTO SCOPE OF REGISTRATION Training Institute of Australia is a Registered Training Organisation (TOID 21136) delivering Victorian Government funded training in: Printing and Graphic Arts (Desktop Publishing) Printing and Graphic Arts (Multimedia) COURSE DURATION Courses commence twice per year, however commencement dates can sometimes be adjusted to suit individual needs. Completion will vary from student to student but in general the course can usually be completed in around one year. SELECTION PROCESS After the applications have been received, interviews for applicants will be held. Successful candidates will be required to attend an induction prior to the commencement of work. WAGES SBAT staff will work up to one day each week and will earn the following hourly rates: Year 10 & 11 - $8.06 per hour; Year 12 - $8.88 per hour.
TUITION FEES & TRAVEL There are no additional costs for you such as tuition fees for training and training materials or travel as your employer will meet these costs. As students achieve competency using applications and equipment and gain sufficient proficiency they will be given the opportunity to apply their skills producing content for the company. All training will be delivered in the workplace. Training will consist of self-paced workbooks, group training sessions, one-on-one training as required, projects and open book exams. OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY Occupational Health and Safety is a compulsory component of the Certificate III course. Successful candidates will complete the OH&S training immediately on commencing the course. ASSESSMENT TASKS The Certificate III is completed via a series of training sessions, workbooks and projects. Assessment tasks include: Completion of workbooks and projects Attendance at training sessions Completion of tutorials and workshops Creation of multimedia content Self-assessments Written exams Assessments are undertaken on completion of each unit or group of units and at the conclusion of each Semester.
