Assistant Principal Full time Highly competitive salary Required from June or September 2016 o you want to play a key role in the founding of an exciting, new, and innovative allthrough school? o you want to move your career forward in an environment which nurtures talent and has huge scope for career progression? o you believe all students have the potential to succeed at a top university given great teaching and the right school culture? o you want to be part of a movement and team which will change history, exploding the myth that economic disadvantage should serve as an excuse for poor attainment? As a new all-through school, One egree Academy has been given a rare opportunity to create a world class, continuous learning experience for children from 4-18 years. Our Primary school opens in September 2016 with reception, with our Secondary school opening in September 2017. Our aspirations for One egree Academy are simple and ambitious: through inspirational teaching, every One egree Academy student will develop the knowledge, attributes and cultural capital to succeed at university and in a productive career. Students, staff and parents will strive for excellence: step-by-step. Our goal is that, regardless of background, every child leaves One egree with an offer letter to a Russell Group University. Students may decide a high quality apprenticeship is better value for money, or choose to follow their passion for sport or creative arts, but they will be making that choice from a position of power. To achieve this, we are focussed on 3 things: Outstanding academic achievement and scholarship Partnerships with world-leading businesses and universities that raise aspirations ducating the whole child: teaching important non-cognitive skills and personal attributes in a loving and disciplined family environment We aim to transform the lives of our students through our persistent and relentless focus on the small but important details and actions necessary for great teaching and learning. We know that greatness is achieved through perseverance and incremental improvement - one degree at a time. This idea is at the heart of our school. Our exciting journey - for students, staff, and the community of dmonton - starts here with inspirational and exceptional early years provision. We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and innovative Assistant Principal to found our new school. This is an exciting and rare opportunity to build the foundations of One egree Academy, and to be part of something profound and special. We are more interested in your commitment to continual and incremental improvement - and in an unfaltering belief in the potential of every child - than in extensive experience. Whether you are an experienced senior leader or are a middle leader with proven impact and ideas, you will play a key part in the school s development. We are growing every year and expect our founding senior leaders to be at the forefront of our development: as Assistant Principal, there are no limits to where your leadership journey could end. Our curriculum is based on cutting-edge insights from cognitive science and educational research and we look at the best practice from across the globe to influence our thinking. All staff at One egree will visit excellent schools both within the UK and overseas regularly and will have opportunities to take part in high quality CP tailored to their needs.

very decision at One egree Academy is defined by the question does this help pupil s learning? If the answer is no, we don t do it. This means that all of our developing systems are as simple, transparent and effective as they can be. Successful candidates will have an opportunity to: Along side the Principal, play a central role in the founding of our new school Lead a team of committed and dedicated early years teachers in a no excuses culture which strives for excellence Join an organisation and team utterly committed to teacher development and growing great teachers and leaders - step by step Receive weekly instructional coaching and feedback, enabling you to improve quickly as a leader and as a teacher We are clear that you will leave One egree Academy a better teacher and leader than you were when you joined. Successful candidates will: Have an unfaltering believe in the ability of all children to achieve a place at university given great teaching and a strong culture of aspiration and achievement Welcome positive feedback and be committed to the idea of continuous improvement and self development Have the mindset and abilities to make a tangible impact on the lives of our students and on the community of dmonton. Have a good understanding of early years education, curriculum, phonics and the YFS framework. We are committed to transforming the lives of students in the community of dmonton and to making history by exploding the myth that disadvantage should serve as an excuse for poor attainment. If founding a genuine all-through school appeals to you, and if you share our passion for raising standards of education and going above and beyond in the search for equality of educational opportunity, then we would love to hear from you. Interested? You are very welcome to come and meet with us, even if you don t end up applying for the post. We love talking to people about our plans for One egree Academy. If you would like to arrange an informal chat with the Principal, Aidan, please contact him directly on aidan@onedgereeacademy.org To apply: email joe@onedegreeacademy.org for an application pack or download one from our website.
