CSC Off Campus Network Access Instructions These instructions will show you how to initiate an off campus connection to on campus resources such as your on campus desktop PC, SCT, or group drives. VPN Connection Method 1: If this is your first time connecting via VPN, use this method to connect. 1. Navigate to http://osuvpn.okstate.edu or http://vpn.connorsstate.edu 2. Enter your C Key credentials and login to continue. 3. Click the Start AnyConnect link in your browser window to begin installation of the Cisco AnyConnect program. 4. Click Yes to accept the certificate and continue with the installation. 5. Follow the on screen instructions to install the software. You may have to initiate the installation manually so follow the instructions. 6. Once the installation is complete, you should see something similar to the following screenshot. You should also see a Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client icon in the system tray (shown in the red circle below).
VPN Connection Method 2: If you have already installed the Cisco AnyConnect software as shown above, use this method to connect. 1. Open the Cisco AnyConnect Mobility Client. a. From the Start Menu, select All Programs. Select the Cisco folder to open it. Select the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client folder to open it. You will see the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client program in the folder. Select the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client link. b. From the System Tray, right click the Cisco AnyConnect icon. Select the Open AnyConnect link. 2. Click Connect. 3. Enter your C Key credentials and select OK. 4. Once you are connected, you will see the icon, located in the system tray, that indicates connection. This icon, represented by the gray circle with a gold lock, is shown below.
VPN Disconnection Method: To manually disconnect the VPN connection, use the following instructions. 1. Select the Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client icon from the system tray. 2. From the Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client screen, choose Disconnect. NOTE: The icon that indicates disconnection is represented by the gray circular icon without the gold lock, as indicated below. Access Your Desktop On Campus: To connect to your own desktop on campus, first connect via the VPN client from off campus. 1. From the Start Menu, select All Programs, Accessories, Remote Desktop Connection. 2. Enter your PC name or current IP address and select Connect. 3. Enter your credentials and select OK to login. 4. If you see a dialog such as this below, verify the computer name or IP address* you are connecting to, then select Yes. 5. You should now be connected to your on campus desktop.
Access SCT from Off Campus: First connect the Cisco AnyConnect VPN client, then use the following steps to utilize SCT off campus. If you already have the SCT software client installed on your PC at home: 1. From the Start Menu, select All Programs, QWS 3270 Secure, QWS 3270 Secure. 2. Connect to the session you have setup previously. 3. Login with your credentials and you should be able to work as if you re on campus. If you do not have the SCT software client installed on your PC at home: 1. From your browser, visit http://connorsstate.edu/sct. 2. Select the Version 4.5 link and follow the on screen instructions to install the SCT software.
Access Group Drives from Off Campus: First connect the Cisco AnyConnect VPN client, then use the following steps to access group drives from off campus. 1. Open My Computer, Computer, or your file browser from your device. 2. Type in \\10.110.2.5\CSC_Group in the location field at the top. 3. Select the group drive you wish to access. NOTE: Please remember that editing documents on your computer from off campus effectively brings the contents of that particular file off campus. Because of this, our policy is to prohibit file access to specific files containing sensitive data such as student information, social security numbers, etc. If you need to edit files with this type of content, please utilize the above Access Your Desktop On Campus instructions.
