These meetings are called College and Career Readiness meetings, or CCR meetings. We used to call them SEOP meetings (some of you may remember), but the state of Utah thinks College and Career Readiness meeting sounds better. We are gearing up to meet with our 8th and 10th grade students. We greatly prefer to have our students' parents/guardians at these meetings. Feel free to call the school to schedule your student's CCR meeting. Any questions? Call the counselors - 801-578-8226. Thanks Middle School Social The senior class is organizing a spring social for students in grades six, seven and eight on Friday March 27 th between 10:15 and 11:30am. There will be a dance, sports activities, a photo booth, art installation, Pokémon room, computer games, and a donut eating contest. If you would like to chaperone or donate donuts or bottled water, please let Dr. Hack or Mr. Splain know. We have hosted students from Germany, Thailand and Spain, and each year these lovely young people enrich the lives of our students and staff. If you have an interest in hosting a student in your home next year please contact Jamie Paskins for information at jamiepaskins@gmail.com. If you are in the least bit interested in what it's like to be a host parent, feel free to contact Niki Hack who has hosted Mariam (a SLCSE student from Spain) this year.

Chemistry Festival The American Chemical Society Student Chapter will be hosting a Chemistry Festival at the University of Utah on March 28th from 1 until 3pm. Come enjoy lots of hands on activities and cool Chemistry demonstrations. June 17-20, 2015 AWE + Summer Camp This summer camp is for girls entering the 8th grade this fall interested in math and science. It is sponsored by Westminster College, American Association of University Women, and other generous donors. Flyer is attached: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0b6qu-lofkzoeme0wr1zyay02smm/edit?pli=1 SLCSE Prom Dear SLCSE students and parents, Prom is coming very soon, May 16th and we need help with decorations! Our theme is 'A night under the stars', we are looking for things that match the theme, this includes, lights, stars, balloons, streamers, etc. For our theme, we would like the primary colors range from Dark blue, light blue, silver and white. However, you can also donate money and we will buy the decorations. We would absolutely love everyone s help, we hope to have everything in by mid-april so we can start organizing and preparing ourselves. Ski bike Competition Mr. Eaton's two Bike shop Classes continue to "Speed" to excellence in designing and fabricating Ski Bikes in our third annual SKI BIKE COMPETITION.
