February 2016 Senior Newsletter Mineral Ridge High School Watch Deadlines! The school year is flying by! There is no more time to procrastinate. If you already haven t made a decision on what you are going to do after high school, FAFSA forms must be completed for grants, work study, or any other federal aid. The time to apply for financial aid is NOW! you need to do so soon. Colleges and Universities start awarding money in February. You don t want to be left out. Make sure you are paying attention to due dates and deadlines. Mr. Racketa has given you a list of dates that he needs pictures, music, etc by. Follow them! You can t walk across the stage without a cap and gown. Make sure you ordered one if you don t already have one from someone else. Some important dates to put on your calendar: March 11 End of 3rd QTR March 22 NHS Assembly March 18 Report Cards April 15 Prom May 15 Baccalaureate Service May 16 & 17 Senior Exams May 19 Senior Honor s Assembly May 20 Class Day Did you know? If you are having trouble completing the FAFSA, ANY college or university will help you complete it. You do not need to be going to that school. Just call their financial aid department and set up an appointment! May 4 Beta Assembly If you need it, get help completing the FAFSA May 22 -Graduation College Checklist: Decide which college to attend, and notify the school of your decision Keep track of and observe deadlines for sending in all required fees and paperwork Notify schools you will not attend of your decision Continue to look for scholarship opportunities Keep track of important financial aid and scholarship deadlines Compare financial aid packages from different schools Sign and send in a promissory note if you are borrowing money Notify your college about any outside scholarships you receive.

If you do not turn items into Mr. Racketa, you will not be featured in the class day video. 5-7 photos to be used in video 1 piece of music to be played while you walk down the aisle 1 baby picture Mr. Racketa needs these ASAP! Senior pictures need to be turned into Mr. Racketa by April 15, 2016 to be included in the yearbook. The yearbook sale is quickly coming to an end. If you want a senior yearbook, you need to get your order form to Mr. Racketa ASAP. Order forms are on the office counter.
