Job Summary The Business Improvement and Support team will provide a range of central support functions Shared Services across HSC organisations. The Business Support Team Leader will ensure scanning and other central support services are delivered in accordance with the Service Level Agreements (SLAs). He/She will be responsible for leading a small team, dedicated to providing scanning support to busy and fast paced Shared Service (SS) centres. He/she will co-ordinate administrators to ensure the policies and procedures are implemented appropriately and to the correct standard. Key Result Areas Service Delivery 1) To supervise the training and development of a team of business support administrators. 2) Contribute to recruitment and selection of staff as necessary. 3) Deliver business support and in particular scanning activities to the organisation based upon managing Key Performance Indicators (KPI), maximising efficiency and overall effectiveness. 4) Mitigate financial risk by maintaining fit for purpose control environments. 5) Oversee all activity undertaken by the business support team administrators 6) Meet and discuss any issues with operatives which may affect Centre policy/protocols which have arisen from enquiries.
7) Produce monthly reporting information and dashboard data, ensuring accuracy and timely production. 8) Lead and/or contribute to business support projects in conjunction with required Team Leaders and Centre Manager. 9) Take responsibility for resolving any queries as appropriate if referred to him/her by Centre Manager and operatives. Quality 1) Ensure optimum staff performance and create development plans for areas of improvement, and provide recognition for exceptional performance. 2) Regularly review policies in order to determine required changes and take corrective action where appropriate. 3) Contribute to BSO s overall corporate and integrated governance processes to ensure compliance with public sector values and codes of conduct, operations and accountability. Financial and Resource Management 1) Anticipate the financial implications associated with the operational performance of the centre ensuring that business risks are identified, documented, controlled and mitigated. 2) Be accountable for the accuracy and integrity of financial records, ensuring adherence to HSC and HMRC policies. Collaborative Working 1) Maintain excellent working relationships with HSC customers, Team Leaders, Centre Managers and Centre Operatives. Communication and Information Management 1) Develop and deliver a range of communication interventions, including reports for senior management, Centre Managers and other team leaders, following on from information provided by operatives. 2) Maintain appropriate communication with Centre Managers to ensure the API needs of BSO customers and Trusts are being met. People Management and Development 1) Participate personally in the organisation s Performance Review Scheme and review individually on a regular basis the performance of any direct reports, providing guidance on personal development requirements and advice on appropriate action. 2) Take responsibility if required for a team of support staff and maintain good relationships and morale amongst those reporting to him/her. 3) Delegate appropriate responsibility and authority to the level of staff within his/her control consistent with effective decision making whilst retaining responsibility and accountability for results.

Essential Criteria - Knowledge, skills and experience required: A university degree or relevant professional qualification AND 2 years relevant experience* OR Have 4 years relevant experience* * Relevant experience is defined as having worked within a similar operating environment. AND have Experience of managing/leading a small team to deliver results within a target driven environment. Have worked with a diverse range of stakeholders, both internal and external to the organisation, to achieve successful outcomes. Demonstrable track record of strong negotiation, communication and influencing skills in order to meet the needs of the post. Demonstrate evidence of personal responsibility for achieving significant measurable improvements, at an organisational level, across a range of management activities.
