Delivery Locations: Jumbo Safety & Training are approved to deliver courses anywhere in Australia. We aim to ensure that all courses are held in or close to the CBD, and that all venues have car parking available and are within easy reach of public transport. Venues are booked once the number of students has been confirmed and you will be notified of the venue details by email no later than 5 days prior to the course commencement date. Entry Requirements You must be able to use Microsoft Word, read, write and speak English proficiently. Aside from this, there are no other requirements. For intensive courses, students must also own or be able to access a reliable laptop computer / notebook for use over the entire duration of the intensive course. Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat Reader must already be installed. Apple Mac users must ensure they have Microsoft Office for Mac. All Assessment Workbooks must be submitted as a Word Document. Students must bring photo identification on the first day of the course. Student Support Students are provided with email support for any assessment related queries throughout the 12 month enrolment period. Students can also contact their trainer via telephone for additional assistance if required. Once received, Assessment Workbooks will be assessed and graded as Competent or Not Yet Competent. In the case of being graded as Not Yet Competent students will be provided with written feedback and be required to resubmit their workbook within the 12 month enrolment period. Several opportunities for re- assessment are provided to assist a student to gain a grade of Competent Course assessment includes written tests, activities and practical observations. Jumbo Safety & Training provides appropriate learning support to all students through its training and assessment delivery, applying reasonable adjustment to training and assessment where learning difficulties are experienced by the student. Please discuss any learning difficulties you may have with Jumbo Safety & Training at the time of enrolment. Student Resources You will be provided with all of the required information and resources to complete this course in the form of the course Learner Guide, Learner Resource File and Assessment Workbook. This information is provided free of charge to enrolled students. Electronic versions will be emailed to the email address given at the time of enrolment no more than two weeks prior to commencement of an intensive course. Please note that we do not supply hard copies of student resources. You may print copies for the purpose of your study if you wish. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer RPL is offered to all students at enrolment. RPL is a form of assessment that acknowledges skills and knowledge gained through previous formal training conducted by industry or education, work experience and or life experience. The main principle of RPL focusses on the outcomes of learning rather than when or where the learning occurred. If you believe that this may apply to you for any part of the course, then you should request an application kit during the enrolment process. RPL is available on request at the full face to face course fee. Pathways From The Qualification After achieving the Certificate IV of Work Health and Safety, students may undertake a Diploma of Work Health and Safety (BSB51312) with Jumbo Safety & Training. Cancellations and Refunds All intensive delivery course cancellations must be submitted in writing at least 14 days in advance of the course date to contact@jumbosafetytraining.com.au. All cancellations made more than 14 days from the course date will incur a $100 administration fee per student. Cancellations made less than 14 days from the course date will result in the fees already paid being forfeited. If a student is unable to complete an intensive course due to illness or extenuating circumstances, negotiations will take place between the student and Jumbo Safety & Training as to re-enrolment on a course at a later date. This will be subject to availability and assessed on a case by case basis. Jumbo Safety & Training reserves the right to cancel courses in the event that the minimum required student numbers have not be met. In this event students will be offered a full refund and will not be subject to an administration fee or can enrol on a course to be held at a later date. The complaints and appeals policy of Jumbo Safety & Training provides an avenue for students to address their complaints and appeals to Jumbo Safety & Training management and have them dealt with in a constructive and timely manner.
