2 Course Description Contribute positively to an organisation s health and safety culture! Every year in Australia, many people get hurt at work and some even die yet a great number of these instances are avoidable. Once you attain a Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety, you ll have the knowledge and skills required to perform a range of different safety roles in the workplace or even to find employment in a field that s new for you. Effective workplace health and safety lowers absenteeism, reduces risks, improves the wellbeing of employees and saves organisations money that can be better spent in other ways. The Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety is the minimum requirement for health and safety management in the workplace. It s designed to enable you to participate in an organisation s WH&S Management Systems. By completing a Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety you ll learn how to: comply with work health and safety legislation; identify hazards; implement and support the workplace s WHS systems; assess and control work health and safety risks; and contribute to health and safety in the workplace, including helping to implement WHS strategies to control risks and emergency procedures. 3 Entry Requirements Pathway: Once you ve completed your Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety, you ll be able to apply for a range of different and interesting employment opportunities such as: WHS Coordinator WHS Advisor WHS Facilitator Preferred pathways for candidates entering this qualification include: BSB30715 Certificate III in Work Health and Safety or other relevant Certificate III qualifications OR Vocational experience in work health and safety roles without a formal qualification. Documentary evidence of vocational experience must be provided on application for enrolment. (All documents that are presented on application for enrolment at the Institute must be translated into English and be certified true copies of the original) Participants must have access to the following in order to complete their studies: Personal Computer or laptop with Internet Microsoft Office with Word, Excel, PowerPoint programs Adobe Acrobat Reader (Please speak to our course consultant if you require assistance with accessing the appropriate resources)
