Summary Overview of Request for Proposal (RFP) and Services Requested This RFP is requesting that providers submit responses that include services and support relating to production hardware infrastructure hosting for LAUP. Los Angeles Universal Preschool ( LAUP ) is looking to move their existing data center infrastructure to a hosted facility in which some of LAUP s equipment will remain in production and legacy equipment is to be migrated onto hosted hardware. This hybrid hosting model will ensure LAUP can continue to benefit from hardware investments made through the remaining life cycle of the equipment. LAUP currently manages and maintains their datacenter infrastructure in-house in its corporate headquarters; 888 S. Figueroa Los Angeles CA. Conditions exist where power and cooling provided by the building is unpredictable due to the nature of the building s routine maintenance schedule of their safety systems. This affects LAUP s ability to provide optimal availability to systems within the data center. LAUP s core server infrastructure runs on HP Blade & Hitachi AMS SAN technology. Infrastructure is 100% virtual using VMware and Citrix at the Hypervisor Layer. High availability, load balancing and redundancy are fully implemented and must exist in the proposed solution. A proper solution would require the service provider to support and integrate their hosting model into our existing infrastructure. As LAUP equipment reaches end of life or capacity the hosted model must supplement or replace affected equipment. LAUP is looking at a hybrid hosting model with multiple areas of services; Hosting Services, Managed Co-Location, Managed Hosting Services, Managed Cloud Services, Professional Services. LAUP Reserves the right to select a single or multiple vendors for the different services being requested. Vendors are encouraged to submit proposals for one or all of the services required listed on this RFP. Print Date: June 20, 2013 Page 5 of 12
