PBX and voice applications are increasingly being delivered from the cloud. The success of companies like Vonage and RingCentral has created positive market awareness for hosted voice solutions and customers are increasingly asking for cloud based voice solutions. The challenge for PBX vendors is how to offer a similar product without the enormous cost and complexity that comes with building and managing your own network and network assets. Net Access has a solution for you. This document describes the Net Access and connectivity solution for hosted voice applications. The solution consists of a centralized, highly scalable and fault tolerant Private Cloud, last mile connectivity for toll-quality voice and SIP connectivity for inbound/outbound voice traffic. The Net Access is a high-availability VMWare-controlled cluster of high performance compute hosts, with dedicated SAN for storage. All physical hardware exists at the Net Access Parsippany II data center, a Tier 3 facility located in Parsippany, New Jersey. Many hardware vendors, such as Avaya and Mitel, have ported their software stack to run on commodity x86 computing infrastructure. The is connected to the proprietary Net Access dark fiber network that extends to 60 Hudson and 165 Halsey, two of the most highly connected carrier hotels in the New York Metro area. At these locations Net Access can connect to any voice provider for SIP trunk origination and termination in addition to last mile local loops (T1, Ethernet, Ethernet over Copper, fiber, etc). For billing and regulatory compliance, Net Access has partnered with MASS Communications, a licensed CLEC located in New York City. MASS communications provisions and services the local loops and rates and bills the traffic. Co-billing with the partners name on the invoice is available. The Net Access Private Cloud, combined with MASS Communications last mile and voice services, provides an end-to-end solution for PBX vendors that wish to offer a hosted voice product but do not want to take on the burden and expense of building and managing their own voice and data network.

Net Access Managed Services Solution Process Flow Consultation and Design Net Access Engineers will meet with the customer in a collaborative session to define the requirements and review the proposed solution. A dedicated engineer provides consultation and planning to ensure that the deployment of the solution meets the client s deadlines, expectations, and functionality. Net Access strives to ensure all customers are provided a service that is the right fit for them. Some environments are small and static and some environments are large and need to scale. Net Access engineers can design a solution based on a number of needs. Implementation Net Access will perform a cooperative test and turn up of the design, working with the customer to verify all components meet their requirements, expectations, and security concerns. A dedicated Managed Services Engineer is available during this process to make any necessary adjustments and ensure that the client is satisfied. Net Access will also work with third party integrators or vendors that will be involved in the deployment of the solution to simplify the process. Ongoing Management and Support Managed services are fully maintained by Net Access and monitored by our Network Operation Center 24/7/365. Ongoing support of hardware and software in the proposed solution is provided by Net Access and our technical staff. All of our solutions include proactive updates, hardware replacement, configuration assistance, and security auditing.

FLEX Services Solution Components The following FLEX Services are utilized in the solutions outlined in this document: FLEXServer Rapidly deployed, securely hosted dedicated servers that can be connected to the Internet, other Net Access FLEX services or a client s existing network infrastructure to create a true hybrid solution. Net Access provides maintenance of the physical hardware, the supply of power, the network connectivity and provisions any purchased upgrades of the hardware. FLEXVirtualDC Our virtualized enterprise data center offering. Available as a dedicated or multi-tenant solution, FLEXVirtualDC allows clients to deploy, adjust and expand Virtual Machines (VM) on-demand using committed pool of compute, memory, storage and bandwidth resources via a self-service web portal. FLEXStorage Managed SAN and NAS storage infrastructures that can be either shared, dedicated or mixed, and support both file and block protocols natively including NFS, CIFS, SFTP and iscsi. FLEXBackup Shared, dedicated or combined cloud backup and recovery solution that is securely hosted in a Net Access data center. FLEXBackup can be deployed as a complement to existing on-site office infrastructure, existing infrastructure within a Net Access data center or combined with any of our other FLEXServices. Advanced options include AES-256 encryption, deduplication, and numerous replication, restoration and recovery options. FLEXBridge Layer 2 connectivity inside the Net Access data center providing private 100meg, 1gig or 10gig connections between environments. This allow customers to split their workloads between virtualized cloud and bare metal, and have both on the same LAN behind a pair of firewalls in their cabinet.

Solution Overview Customer Profile: A PBX vendor is looking for an efficient, scalable and economical way to compete against cloud-based VoIP service providers, without having to build and manage their own data center or network. Customer Requirements: Highly scalable infrastructure Access to last mile voice network connectivity Access to IP network for SIP voice connectivity Proposed Solution Components: Net Access recommended solution included the following FLEX services: FLEXServer FLEXVirtualDC FLEXStorage FLEXBackup FLEXBridge The proposal also included management by Net Access of all networking devices, storage units, and backups to improve compliance consistency by means of a single IT support staff.

7 Page 6 Private Cloud Solution Overview: The Net Access solution provides a highly redundant and scalable private cloud infrastructure that gives the customer the ability to create and manage virtual servers via on online tool (vcloud Director). Key components of this solution include: 3 Premium FLEXServers configured with 64GB of RAM and dual 8 core 2.6 GHz CPUs. This lets the customer use 96GB of vram and 80 GHz of CPU in non-oversubscribed HA configuration. Additional VMware compute nodes can be added to scale the RAM and CPU resources in the cluster. A dedicated FLEXStorage system consisting of EMC VNXe3200 Arrays. This provides 6TB of usable storage that can be expanded as needed. Microsoft MS-SQL 2014 running on FLEXServer Premium with Server 2012 R2 Standard OS installed in an Active/Failover configuration. Net Access provided SQL licenses include the right of a failover database cluster without additional licensing costs. FLEXServer Premium will also be licensed with SQL Server 2014 Enterprise utilizing a RAID 10 SSD disk subsystem. FLEXVirtualDC will be providing a virtual machine to act as a witness server, while FLEXBackup will be providing a robust granular restore capability for the environment. All of this will be extended into the customer s current network fabric by use of FLEXBridge. In this configuration MS-SQL is configured in a single site with an active and a passive node without any shared disk infrastructure. Using Microsoft failover clustering technology if the currently active SQL node goes off line, the secondary unit will take over the VIP (Virtual IP) of the cluster and start serving requests with no loss of data as the database is in a synchronous commit state between the two nodes. Once the failed server is restored to service the system will automatically bring the database current from the currently active system. 9 Page 8 Network and Voice Connectivity Solution Overview: The above described Private Voice Cloud is connected over a private dark fiber network owned and managed by Net Access to 60 Hudson and 165 Halsey. Remote Core NNI connections with multiple network providers 1 are provisioned at the Net Access POP locations at 60 Hudson and 165 Halsey. The NNI consists of a physical cross connect and access to a 1 GIG Port on the network provider s MPLS network(s). All MPLS mapping would be provisioned to Intellipeer, or another SIP voice provider, from the network providers. Voice traffic would travel from customer location over the MPLS network into the Voice Private Cloud SBC and back out to the MPLS cloud to terminate with Intellipeer o Assumption: the RTP stream would route up to the SBC in addition to signaling information. A direct RTP stream b/t Customer location and Intellipeer voice gateway could be configured, depending on the PBX and vendor preference. This solution supports both dedicated last mile links and best effort Internet connectivity to the voice Private Cloud. In the case of dedicated connectivity, customer end loops would be provisioned by the network providers and customer calls would traverse private link, over MPLS cloud, and into the Voice Private Cloud, and then to Intellipeer. o With dedicated connectivity, failover to public Internet would be provisioned for backup (assuming customer has alternative Internet connectivity on-site). In the case of best effort Internet, VoIP calls would reach the over the public Internet. 1 Current network provider is GTT ( Net Access can connect to any network provider located at 60 Hudson or 165 Halsey.

The more redundancy, the more fixed cost in NNIs and x-connect fees.
