1 Terms of Reference Microsoft Exchange and Domain Controller/ AD implementation Overview Maldivian Red Crescent will implement it s first Microsoft Exchange server and replace it s current Domain Controller within the first quarter of The purpose of the present tender is to implement the corresponding servers inclusive of hardware and software requirements along with supportive infrastructure. Although the implementation of the two servers are treated as a single project, Exchange will by deployed in two phases and DC will be deployed in a single phase. The initial deployment will be the implementation of the Domain Controller and Active Directory followed by the phase I of Exchange which will include setting up the supportive infrastructure, installation and deployment of Exchange. Phase II will include installation and configuration of the firewall, migration of currently used POP accounts to Exchange and testing. Page 1 of 7

3 1. Servers 1.1. 4 2. Software 2.1. Operating Systems We will run two Windows Server Standard 2012 on both the servers Licensing Servers Licensing 2.2. CALs Proposals should contain all required licenses to operate the proposed solution with the proposed capacity. The proposed licenses for Windows Server should be under OLP Exchange server will run Microsoft Exchange Server Standard 2013 on the server dedicated for Exchange. Proposals should contain all required licenses to operate the proposed solution with the proposed capacity. The proposed licenses for Exchange should be under OLP CALs required for the this solution are as below. However, please note that the number of CALs may vary at the time of implementation. 5 3. Storage systems 3.1. Interface All hard drives in the proposed solution must contain SAS SCSI interfaces 3.2. Form Factor 3.3. Capacity 3.4. Speed All hard drives in the proposed solution must be SFF Storage capacity of the Exchange server will be about 2 TB available storage. The specified amount need not be all usable. It is expected to propose storage capacity for Exchange with 5 x 1 TB hard drives. Please refer to the RAID configuration for the expected available storage capacity against data redundancy. Storage Capacity of the Domain Controller /Active Directory server will be about 2 TB. Please refer to the RAID configuration for the expected available storage capacity against data redundancy. All hard drives proposed must have a minimum rotational speed of 10,000 rpm. Data transfer speed should not be less than 6Gbps 3.5. RAID Configuration Storage controller Proposed solutions must contain, for each server, 2 x 300GB drives with RAID 1 configured. This is where the OS and all applications reside Storage - The proposals should contain solution for 5 x 1 TB hard drives with RAID 10 configuration for both servers 3.6. 6 4. Server Rack 4.1. Size 4.2. Features The Rack proposed must be 42U The server rack should be of a recognized brand. It should contain integrated cooling fans atop. It should be lockable and should contain proper cable trays across the equipment. Both front and back should have full size doors and the side panels must be removable or swingable. The rack should be sturdy and strong with adjustable foots 5. Power backups Power backups need not be of a particular model. However, it should be a model that can be supported in-country and sockets should be compatible with standard flat 3 pin plugs or C14 input sockets and C13 output sockets 5.1. Size 5.2. Capacity All power backups should be rack mountable and should provide significant power output with relation to its unit size thereby using up as less space from the rack for most power capacity Proposed solutions should contain power backups and configurations that would allow both servers to run for at least 2 hours during a power outage 6. KVM 6.1. Type 6.2. Size KVM proposed should be either lay flat or clamshell configuration. It is preferred if the KVM console has built-in KVM switch. It should support both servers and should contain a US keyboard layout and a track pad or a track ball KVM console size must not exceed 2 units Page 6 of 7

7 7. Installation 7.1. Configuration 7.2. Security All Exchange roles will run on the server dedicated for exchange including Hub Transport. DC / AD will run on the second server on Hyper-V. This is to allow using this server as a file server on a Linux platform which is beyond the scope of this project A hardware firewall will be installed and configured for security which will also be handling spam. The firewall will be provided to the winner of the bid prior to implementation 8. Miscellaneous 8.1. Submission of proposals 8.2. Extras Proposals must include estimated time and maximum price for hardware and software installation for the proposed solution Any equipment that is not included in this ToR but essential for the implementation of the mentioned two servers will be provided by Maldivian Red Crescent prior to commencement of work 8.3. Alternative proposals Bidders are allowed to submit alternative proposals based on different models than their main proposal when such alternative proposals can provide comparable functionality with lower costs Page 7 of 7
