Registrations for this year s test close on Friday 3 June 2016 and the test will be held on Wednesday 27 July 2016. There is only one sitting each year, so don t miss it. William Angliss Institute News Hospitality and Tourism Update for our new intake for NICI Program We would like to update you with the new intake for the Skills for Success program that William Angliss Institute runs in partnership with the National Indigenous Culinary Institute (NICI). The next program commences on Monday 11th April and combines on-the-job training with a contemporary industry designed qualification. This is a 3 week program that will run mainly during the school holiday. Any students from school will then be offered work experience in the beginning of 2017 and an apprenticeship if they wish to continue. The culinary guardianship of some of Australia's top restauranteurs - from Rockpool Bar and Grill, Rockpool Est, Aria, Chiswick, North Bondi Fish, Icebergs Dining, Gowings Bar and Grill (QT), Fratelli Fresh, Cafe Sopra, Cafe Nice, China Doll, China Lane, Catalina Restaurant Rose Bay, Caveau, Bistro Moncur, Gardener's Lodge Cafe, Four in Hand, The European and Rosetta Ristorante. Trial-a-trade is starting soon! The first session of the complimentary school holiday workshops at William Angliss Institute is starting soon! It is a perfect opportunity for students who are interested in Foods, Travel and Tourism, Events and Hospitality to get hands on experience in these fields that they are passionate about. If you are interested in cookery, patisserie, coffee or hospitality, please book now to save a spot! Try a Skill Event 16 June 2016 For students wanting to investigate various trade skills a special event is held each year by Central Coast Group Training (CCGT) that allows students to find out about and try four trade areas from a large selection on offer. The event is called Try a Skill and is being held this year on Thursday 16 th June at Ourimbah TAFE campus. Students wanting to attend do so at their parents discretion and need to meet at the venue and organise their own transport after the event (e.g. parents to arrange transport for their child). Assuming GPCC students book to attend, Mr Russell will be in attendance on the day at the venue to assist students if any needs arise. If you would like to participate, please print the expression of interest form (included further below) and obtain a photo consent form from Mr Russell both of these need to be returned to him before 13 th May.
