2 Q. What are some post school options? University Courses e.g. Commonwealth Supported Place- CSP (HECS) Entry- ATAR plus additional selection criteria if applicable. Submit up to 9 course preferences (see U.A.C guide or website).
3 Admission to University Prospective undergraduate degree students need to apply online through Universities Admission Centre (UAC) E.g. Charles Sturt, Newcastle, Southern Cross, New England and other Universities in NSW & the ACT. Students provided with a PIN early August for security purposes.
4 Admission to University Closing date for online applications is Wed. September Applications received after this date incur a late fee Preferences CAN BE CHANGED ONLINE until early Jan. 2016
5 Alternative Entry to University TAFE (min. Certificate iv) or via other University courses (with a slightly lower ATAR). University enabling programs e.g. Uni Newcastle. Regional Bonus points (automatic) e.g. Charles Sturt Uni. - 5 points Uni. Newcastle 5 points HSC Subject Bonus Points e.g. 3 ATAR points for Band 6 in related subjects. School Recommendation Schemes allowing EARLY ENTRY e.g. SRS e.g. Uni. New England, Charles Sturt & Uni. Canberra apply on line in August/September via UAC. Preferred SRS course must first UAC preference by end of November. Offers early December. UoW (Uni. Wollongong) direct application to uni. in August. EAS for students who have encountered long term educational disadvantage. Rural Student Incentive Schemes e.g. Nursing, Medicine, Pharmacy

10 Where to Live? Where to live is one of the BIGGEST decisions faced by students & parents. Students need to decide whether to live: On campus (apply now!) self catered, flexi. catered or full board - Regional uni s possibly cheaper! Off campus house, flat etc. What type of accommodation will work best for you?
11 Making your decision Think about and apply for accommodation EARLY (except CSU) Non refundable deposit usually required Talk to other students & parents/carers about their experiences Contact/visit each University re. options
12 On Campus Great way of meeting people and making friends. Living on-campus is very convenient & possibly cheaper. Don t have to worry about setting up and maintaining a house. Dorm-style or apartment/unit-style accommodation is available. Demand for on campus accommodation can be high.
13 TAFE Certificate II Degree programs available Apply online to TAFE (Oct.) expression of interest form required for high demand courses* ATAR usually not required for entry. No HECS fee. Articulation to / integration with Uni. courses (Cert. IV and above) Course fees Smart and Skilled initiative. Possible increases in costs. Check with TAFE re: specific course cost & incentives. No on- campus accommodation, though assistance is available Scholarships available for some courses see TAFE website *For other courses enrol at preferred institute by Feb Ph or see
