5 The right path for you We offer many ways for you to get degree qualified. Choose from: TAFE NSW degrees at Sydney TAFE You can earn a nationally recognised TAFE NSW degree directly with us. Choose any of our degree options and benefit from our renowned careerfocused approach. Or University partnerships By enrolling in one of our partner degree programs, which are delivered on campus at Sydney TAFE, you will be given the chance to complete not only a bachelor degree, but in many cases, a TAFE NSW diploma or advanced diploma at the same time. You could shorten your study time, save money and fast-track your career. Or Credit transfer Apply to the university or higher education provider of your choice using credit from your Sydney TAFE diploma or advanced diploma. You ll find information on credit transfer arrangements for accelerated degrees throughout this guide. Or Tertiary Preparation Certificate (TPC) This is a great way to become eligible for degree entry if you haven t attained a Higher School Certificate (completion of Year 12) or didn t attain the required marks to qualify for a higher education provider. Transition with ease Sydney TAFE also offers a range of transitional short courses to help improve your pathway to degree study. These programs provide academic writing skills, developing bibliographies and citations, applying critical thinking and advanced mathematics for degree level study. Maths for Higher Education delivered in partnership with the University of New South Wales, this course covers the contents from the HSC 2 unit Mathematics course, and will help if you are keen to improve your knowledge in maths or you are having difficulty with maths in the first year of your chosen university course. Statistics for Higher Education is suitable if you wish to improve your knowledge in statistics or you are having difficulty with statistics in the first year of your university or TAFE degree course. Academic Transition Skills will help you build up your skills and capabilities in researching, academic writing, report writing and presentations; essential academic skills for your journey along the higher education pathway. Sydney TAFE is pleased to offer special programs in conjunction with our partner universities to fast-track students into degree programs in a variety of disciplines. Our current fast-track programs are run in partnership with Charles Sturt University, Australia and the University of Wollongong. Choose from: Australia The partnership between Sydney TAFE and Australia means you can study: Bachelor of Information Technology Bachelor of Hospitality Management Bachelor of Arts (Music Theatre) Australian Graduate Management Consortium, Charles Sturt University The Australian Graduate Management Consortium is a joint initiative of Charles Sturt University (CSU) and TAFE NSW. It means you can study: Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma of Management (Professional Practice) which include a pathway to a Master of Management. The TPC is considered equivalent to the HSC and you will be given a Tertiary Entrance Score to be used as an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR), but you should always contact your chosen higher education provider and check specific requirements. Talk to a Sydney TAFE representative before enrolling to establish which course structure is right for you. Preparation for university You can still achieve a degree even if you haven t completed your Year 12/Higher School Certificate (HSC). The Tertiary Preparation Certificate (TPC) offered by Sydney TAFE is the fastest way to attain the required scores to enter degree-level study and enhance your career opportunities at the same time. The TPC is recognised by: universities TAFEs private colleges Government (including the NSW public service) and private organisations Australian Defence Force NSW Police. We ll equip you with the academic skills required to participate in higher education. Upon successful completion, you ll have the same skills and knowledge as someone who has finished their Year 12/HSC and you ll receive a Tertiary Entrance Score (TES) which you can use to apply to study for a degree. 6
