In all areas of business, students must be able to effectively access, analyze, and communicate knowledge and information in order to succeed. Professional and Personal Development focuses on working in multi-cultural teams, effective presentations, time-management skills, stress management, ethics and western business etiquette. IT skills includes an introduction to information systems theory as well as specific skills and techniques for the Microsoft Office Suite. Research Methodology & Effective Academic Writing helps students to think critically, access and evaluate knowledge and information, structure and plan their research and write clearly with powerfully arguments. Fundamentals of Global Economics provides an overview of world financial and political institutions and examines the way that they shape the modern geopolitical landscape. This course serves as a valuable backdrop to the courses taken in the second semester and provides a platform upon which to build an understanding of international business. English Language Skills I. Rouen Business School Admissions Bachelor s Degree Extensive Language Tuition Language classes are an important part of the curriculum. Students will have one full day of English language instruction per week in semesters 1 & 2. non-native French speakers will also have 3 hours of French language instruction per week during semersters 1 & 2. Virtual Campus Students have access to a high level e-learning platform with over 310 on-line management training programs (in both English and French) that are used in conjunction with their courses and for further study. Access to the platform is available upon registration at the school so students can start learning before coming to Rouen.
Semester 2 J a n u a r y M a y Business Fundamentals Semester 3 M a y A U G U S T Narrowing your focus After a solid grounding in IT, communication and critical thinking skills, the second semester provides the fundamental technical knowledge needed to pursue studies at the Master of Science level. Quantitative methods for Managers provides the basic math skills needed to pursue higher level business courses including principles of decision making, an introduction to statistics and probability theory. Introduction to Corporate Strategy introduces students to tools used in strategic analysis, defines commonly used business strategies, approaches to sustainable development and discusses differing views of corporate social responsibility. Management and HR Fundamentals presents fundamental concepts in organizational behavior, different Management styles and techniques, and discusses approaches to managing diversity and managing ethically. Marketing Fundamentals presents basic Marketing concepts including the marketing mix, marketing planning, an introduction to market research and fundamentals of consumer behavior. English Language Skills III for native French speakers. Intensive French lessons (for non-native French speakers). The third semester focuses on the specific pre-requisite material needed to succeed in the second year of studies at the Master of Science Level. Through a final research paper and optional internship, students have the opportunity to gain specific insight into their chosen fields from both a practical and theoretical perspective. Research Paper: Tutored by a professor in the domain of their second year of studies, students will research and present a mid-length paper on a subject pertaining to their future study and career plans. Internship: Aided by Rouen Business School s corporate network, or through other contacts, students may choose to use this time to gain experience in the field of their second year of studies and may base their research paper on an aspect of their in-company experience. It is also open to high-potential students coming from non-business backgrounds who wish to pursue business studies at the Post-Graduate level. The program is taught entirely in English with the exception of French classes for non-french students. The International Pre-Masters Program aims to provide students with a solid basis in business studies and language skills to help ensure success in their chosen Masters degree.
