3 THE BEST FROM TWO BUSINESS CULTURES The EMBA is a collaborative program of two well recognized, EQUIS accredited European business schools: ESCP-EAP European School of Management, with its main campus in Paris, and BI Norwegian School of Management, with its main campus in Oslo. The Executive MBA is designed as a part-time program and compatible with a full-time job. It is designed for participants with significant professional experience and managerial success, for whom, considering their positions, a career interruption is inconceivable. This means that the participants will be able to continue in their job while simultaneously being part of an exciting international learning environment. The program focuses on managerial action. It combines stateof-the-art theory with professional experience thanks to teaching methods, which constantly draw from both. It will further your knowledge in all management disciplines and develop your skills in analysing management and organizational situations, decision-making, conducting projects and leading teams. In the BI/ESCP-EAP Executive MBA two strong academic institutions are involved. This will enable its participants to interact actively with two academic environments and networks. Completion of the requirements of the EMBA will earn you a double degree: one from BI Norwegian School of Management and one from ESCP-EAP, thus opening up the worldwide network of not one, but two well known and recognized institutions. BI Norwegian School of Management BI Norwegian School of Management is a private business school founded in Since then the school has grown into a fully-fledged, internationally recognized academic institution in the area of business and management. In size, BI has become the second largest educational institution in Norway and one of the largest business schools in Europe with 10,000 fulltime and 11,000 part-time students. BI offers a wide variety of educational programs ranging from smaller courses and undergraduate studies to the doctoral programs. The school employs 350 full time faculty members and 800 part time lecturers from business and industry. ESCP-EAP ESCP-EAP results from the merger in 1999 of ESCP, the first school in the world dedicated to business studies (founded 1819), with EAP, a multi-national business school established in 1973 to foster pan-european management education. ESCP-EAP has four campuses: Paris, London, Madrid and Berlin. The School employs 125 faculty members and nearly 200 support staff. ESCP-EAP is the largest cross border school of management in Europe today. ESCP-EAP is EQUIS and AACSB accredited. The MBA and Executive MBA programs are AMBA accredited. BI Norwegian School of Management is EQUIS accredited (European Quality Improvement Systems) and is a member of EFMD, the European Foundation for Management Development. 3

4 PROGRAM STRUCTURE The curriculum is based on 18 modules. Each module usually lasts for three days, from Thursday 0900 until Saturday The modules are scheduled approximately every three to four weeks and consist of core courses and/or workshops. Workshops offer practical analysis and in-depthstudies of managerial issues. They either extend the participants comprehension of core disciplines or are devoted to cross-disciplinary themes. In addition to the 18 modules, the program includes five one-week international seminars. The international seminars and six of the workshops will bring together EMBA participants of ESCP-EAP and BI Norwegian School of Management. In between modules and seminars, e-learning support is offered to the participants. 5 APPLICATION AND ADMISSION The current admission criteria for the Executive MBA are: A university degree (bachelor s degree) or an equivalent professional qualification, (transcripts not in English should be accompanied by a certified English translation). Significant work experience. GMAT test. 2 letters of recommendation (at least one should be work related, attesting to the applicant s performance in a work situation). An interview. Admission process 1. Each candidate must complete an application for admission (the application form is attached to this brochure). Complete applications must be received at the latest by November 15th, The MBA Admissions committee operates a rolling admission system. Applications are therefore processed in the order they are received. 2. Each application is reviewed and processed by the Executive MBA Admissions Committee. 3. Admission interviews are then offered to the best candidates. The admission interview plays a crucial role in assessing the applicants abilities and motivation for the EMBA program.
