1. COMPANY BACKGROUND Westline Educatin Grup (WEG) is cmmitted t being the leading educatin prvider in Suth East Asia. Tday, WEG is managing the business f the Westline Schl (seven branches) and the Nrthline Schl, prviding K-12 educatin fr bth Khmer and English by using curriculum f the Ministry f Educatin, Yuth and Sprt (MEYS) and English Educatin frm preschl t advanced level f General English Prgram. WEG is dedicated t prviding wrld-class educatin thrugh prfessinally managed institutins that fcus n innvatin, excellent curriculum, dynamic extra-curricular prgrams, cmmunity service as well as student leadership. T supprt its missin, WEG has partnered with Cambdia- Las Develpment Fund and Luxemburg-based private equity fund managed by Singapreregistered Emerging Markets Investments (EMI). Over the last 5 years, WEG has built its reputatin as ne f the innvative and quality educatin prviders, with clse cperatin with students parents and ther stakehlders. Grwing numbers f students fr all branches f bth the Nrthline and the Westline Schl are nticeable. Mre schl branches have been established (starting with tw campuses in 2008 t fur campuses in 2010 t seven campuses in 2012 and 8 campuses in 2014), t meet the frecast-grwing rate f students and lcatin requirements. Based n success in these fields and in line with its scial missin, WEG is assessing the market fr prviding students with bth English language and life skills in rder t get the students t becme skilled wrkers fr their future. 2. STRATEGIC CHALLENGES Nw, when talking abut educatin, educatrs are talking abut the 21 st Century educatin. It fcuses n STEM. What is STEM? It's the acrnym fr science, technlgy, engineering and mathematics. But while kindergarten thrugh 12th grade educatin usually fcuses n science r mathematics in islatin, all fur f these disciplines are clsely intertwined in the real wrld. Beside the STEM, language is the key factr which students need t make it fluent. English is ne f the languages fr cmmunicatin, and it is the best link t bring knwledge f STEM t the wrld. Talking abut Cambdia educatin system, Khmer language is used t deal with teaching and learning in educatin and braden STEM knwledge in the cuntry, nt the wrld. Students are facing challenges when they are n the internatinal stage. This is the why students need t find t study English at private schl. Develping new and attractive curriculum f English Based t fit the grwth f the demand f students frm K-12 grade fr the 21 st century students is a MUST. English Based Curriculum will be develped t prvide students STEM teaching and learning thrugh English language and beside that, ther subjects will be cnducted in Khmer language. It will fulfill the students need and glbal educatin and t guarantee the schl image and reputatin develpment, t maintain the current students interest in the Westline Schls and the Nrthline Schl, and t attract students frm ther schls at the same type. T ensure the quality and effectiveness f curriculum develpment, technical manpwer is fund as the vital idea t realize the reginally standardized curriculum. 2

CONSULTANCY OBJECTIVES A curriculum cnsultant will prvide WEG with sme benefits as belw: Bring a variety f new cncepts f interesting and attractive English Based curricular fr Primary educatin Recmmend and develp new and attractive curriculum f English Based Prgram. Increase the effectiveness f curriculum implementatin and evaluatin. Cnduct training fr teachers and implementers Heal the current challenges facing in the Westline schls and the Nrthline schl. Develp prgram hand-bk fr EBP. 4. PURPOSE OF IMPLEMENTING PROJECT Prject Descriptin: Curriculum develpment prject aims at develping and standardizing the English Based Curriculum f WEG t meet the needs f its learners in the 21 st century educatin. Mrever, this prject will enlarge the scpe and perspectives f language and STEM use fr the students in general educatin prgram. Plus, this prject will als enhance the capacity n curriculum management and evaluatin via participating in the prject and capacity building trainings. Prject Implementing Gals: Upn the cmpletin f the prject, new curriculum will be develped with clear guidelines and management handbk, and every management level (frm Head Office t Schl level) and teachers will be able t manage and implement the updated and standard curriculum effectively and efficiently. 5. GUIDING PRINCIPLES FOR THE PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION This prject will: A. Invlve all management levels in educatin B. Engage in class bservatin and technical discussin with curriculum implementers. C. Engage in several meetings with academic department t discuss n challenges f current curriculum and the new framewrk f update curriculum. 6. SCOPE OF WORK The cnsultant has t cnsult with Head f Educatin Department and Academic Managers f the prgrams cncerned t understand the nature and nurture f the current curriculum and their future curriculum perspectives. T ensure the effectiveness and efficiency f the prject, the cnsultant can als directly wrk with Vice Principals in charge f language prgram cncerned t understand the challenges and the needs f the branches. At least 5 year experience in educatin management cnsulting and curriculum design Facilitatin skills in training teaching methds and appraches Prven wrk ability in an educatinal envirnment.
