How do you access your Private and Public folders and use the internet? For security reasons, direct access from your personal computer to the Internet and college servers is not possible. You must use the terminal server to get to the internet and to access your network folders, email and other network resources. Overview: First connect to Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client and then remote desktop to terminal server ecfshome-ts. Connect to VPN 1. Verify that your connection to the internet is working. 2. Start Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client (Win 7) Start, Programs, Cisco Click Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client Click Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client Optional: Make a desktop shortcut to start VPN and double click it whenever you want to start VPN. Right click on Cisco AnyConnect VPN client, Send to, Desktop (create shortcut)

Connect to vpn.etown.edu Group: Select 1-Non-College-Owned_Computer Username: This is your network username Password: This is the password you specified when you filled in the VPN form Note: Your VPN password never expires Click Connect 4. Click Accept 5. Allow time for VPN to start. You may see this message. 6. Display the Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client icon in your system tray (Win7) Click the arrow in the lower right corner near the clock. Click Customize 7. Scroll to find VPN User Interface. Next to Hide icon and notifications, click the list arrow and seledt Show icon and notifications. Click OK. 8. Whenever you are connected to Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client, the icon will be displayed in the system tray. Click Local Resources tab Check Printers (this allows you to print to your personal printer) Check clipboard (This allows you to copy and paste from the ecfshome-ts terminal server to your local computer.) 12. Click More Local devices and resources Check the devices and resources you wish to use during your VPN sessions. Click OK 13. Click OK Collapse Options click the arrow Next time you log in, you won't have to set options. Just click Connect. 14. Click Connect 15. Click Connect 16. Click OK 17. Open a File from Your Private Folder on the College Network 1. Copy a File from Private to Your Personal Computer 1. Start My Computer Double click your user drive this is the one with your user name and $ 2. Double click Private 3. Right mouse click the file to be copied Click Copy 4. Double click My Computer 6
5. Under Other Double click C on (your personal computer's name) 6. Double click Documents and Settings 7. Double click the name of your folder 8. Double click your name's Documents 9. Advanced Steps and Tips The VPN log on and access to the ecfshome-ts terminal server procedures can be enhanced by creating shortcuts.
