Key Purpose: 1 To assist the Financial Operations Manager to meet all reporting deadlines 2 To provide financial services to GSMT, WSMT, Budget Holders and the college 3 To develop and maintain systems and financial control Responsibilities: 1 To participate in key College processes as required. 2 To act at all times in accordance with College policies e.g. Health and Safety, Equality & Diversity, Inclusion, Quality Assurance and the College Charter. 3 To work flexibly in the interests of the organisation as required. 4 To participate in appraisal and to undertake staff development activities as appropriate. 5 To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults you are responsible for, or come into contact with. Duties and Responsibilities: a b To ensure compliance with the College s Financial Regulations To produce monthly management accounts and corporate report for review by the Financial Operations Manager. c d e f g h i j k l m n o p q r s t u v To produce a monthly corporate report based on the monthly management accounts and information on student numbers from MIS/Registry Production and management of month end timetable, which takes into account staff working patterns and holidays to ensure the management accounts are still produced within the required deadlines Responsibility for keep the month end file up to date and complete. Review balance sheet reconciliations and seek to resolve any anomalies. Maintain financial records of the college s assets & capital grants. Maintain financial records for the college s funding streams. Maintain the college s prepayment schedule. Posting of routine month end journals. Production of monthly cashflow forecast. To ensure that financial systems are fully compliant with audit recommendations, liaising with internal & external auditors as appropriate. To assist with production of statutory accounts. To produce appropriate forecasts and returns for the College s funding bodies. Provide initial point of contact for allocated Budget Holders for any queries and also for discussion of the budget holder reports. To provide timely and accurate financial information to enable effective management of funding streams. Offer professional advice, support & solutions to any problems the finance team may encounter. To provide holiday cover for Director of Finance/Financial Operations Manager and be a point of contact for the Deputy Chief Executive. Provide year end assistance to the Financial Operations Manager in the preparation of returns and information required by college funding bodies. Opening and distributing post (rota system). Support other members of the Finance Team as required (holiday/sickness cover). To carry out any other duties commensurate to the post as required by your Line Manager / Deputy Chief Executive.
