This may include providing general support for whole class learning activities, or supporting individuals or small groups of pupils. Supporting Teaching and Learning (STL) Level 2 MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. To provide agreed support to the teacher in the delivery of planned whole class learning activities, including supporting resourcing and delivery of learning. 2. To support, identification, mentoring and recording activities around progress and interventions in English. 3. To work under the supervision of a teacher to carry out planned learning activities with small groups or individual pupils, providing feedback on their engagement in activities and their progress against the desired learning objectives. This activity to be carried out with a particular focus on narrowing the gap and improving attainment outcomes for disadvantaged pupils, in liaison with Inclusion department / SLT line manager as appropriate. 4. To support the provision of literacy intervention programmes, identified by teachers and appropriate to raising the achievement of disadvantaged pupils, tracking progress and liaising with English Teachers. 5. To observe and feed back to the teacher on pupil performance and behaviour, taking action as appropriate in line with relevant school policies. 6. To support the physical, intellectual, emotional and social development of pupils, including contributing ideas and suggestions to support planning, to meet their development needs. To support pupils to participate in activities and liaising with other adults and professionals as appropriate, to raise aspiration and attainment in English.
