The post-holder will work alongside Bond s Learning & Training Adviser, and report to the Head of Effectiveness and Learning. These posts are supported by an Effectiveness Assistant. Bond has entered an exciting period of expansion to help us take forward our ambitious agenda for a more effective UK development sector, delivering ever greater impact for people in the poorest countries of the world. We are supported in driving this forward by a DfID grant to scale up our support to the NGO sector in the areas of effectiveness and transparency. Over the last year, Bond has recruited a number of outstanding individuals to join the team. We are currently seeking to appoint a Bespoke Services Adviser (maternity cover), for a fixed period, to maintain and develop our successful bespoke services programme (incorporating bespoke training and consultancy) and to support our open training programme along with our growing range of other learning and effectiveness services. The global context for aid and development is changing all the time. Bond has a critical role to play in anticipating trends, providing thought leadership and helping organisations and the people who work in them to equip themselves for the future. The Role: Bespoke Services Adviser (Permanent, Full Time) Based: London (N1) Salary: 34,820 per annum About Bond Bond is the UK membership body for organisations working in international development. Established in 1993, we now have around 420 members ranging from large agencies with a world-wide presence to smaller, specialist organisations working in certain regions or with specific groups of people. All Bond members share a common goal to eradicate global poverty and we work to influence both policy makers and governments to build organisational capacity, to develop skills of those in the sector and to provide opportunities to exchange information, knowledge and expertise. We do this through the co-ordination of collective actions by members, by providing a central point for advocacy and campaigning on development policy issues, by supporting collaboration and exchange by members through channels such as working groups and by helping organisations to prove and improve their effectiveness. Main purpose of the job You will be responsible for promoting, coordinating and evaluating the delivery of our successful bespoke services programme (incorporating our bespoke training and consultancy services), which aims to build the skills and knowledge of professionals working in international development. Reporting to our Head of Effectiveness and Learning, you will work closely with the Membership and Communications team, the Effectiveness Assistant and our group of expert Associates to promote and deliver our existing bespoke services, whilst securing new training and consultancy business and developing new and revised marketing and training materials. Bespoke Services Adviser, Effectiveness and Learning Team Reporting to: Head of Effectiveness and Learning Job purpose To increase the effectiveness of non-governmental organisations and other international development organisations by: Leading on winning, coordinating and evaluating delivery of high quality bespoke workshops and training courses, consultancy assignments and other learning events tailored to the needs of the client Supporting the delivery and evaluation of other Bond effectiveness services, chiefly, off the shelf training and bespoke consultancy Contributing to the strategy for Bond s effectiveness services as a whole Job description Develop and respond to opportunities to provide tailored training and other learning events that support organisational and professional effectiveness within the international development sector in the UK and occasionally overseas, including submitting high quality responses to invitations to tender Contribute to meeting financial targets through planning, monitoring and reporting on bespoke training and consultancy income & expenditure In conjunction with the Marketing and Communications team, contribute to the success of the bespoke training and consultancy services by continually developing and implementing a proactive marketing programme Design packages of bespoke training and consultancy that can be customised for different clients. Promote these to Bond members and more widely Provide support to off the shelf training as required Work with the Learning and Training Adviser leading on off the shelf training to coordinate, manage, motivate and develop the team of Bond Associates, recruiting new Associates as necessary to replenish and expand the team Lead on evaluating the quality and impact of Bond s bespoke training and consultancy services by capturing, analysing and reporting on feedback and outcomes data from
those who have received the service Lead on increasing the range and quality of Bond s bespoke services in response to trends within the international development sector and feedback from our users
