Mesa DMS Installing MesaDMS Once you access the Mesa Document Management link, you will see the following Mesa DMS - Microsoft Internet Explorer" window: IF you don't have the JAVA JRE installed, please click on the Latest Java from Sun, as shown above, and then proceed after the JRE is installed. After the JRE is installed, click on the "Mesa DMS Installer" link in the above "Mesa DMS - Microsoft Internet Explorer" window to install the Mesa DMS client to your machine.
You will see the following "File Download - Security Warning" dialog box. Click on the "Run" button in the above "File Download - Security Warning" dialog box. You may see the following "Internet Explorer - Security Warning" dialog box. Click on the "Run" button in the above "Internet Explorer - Security Warning" dialog box.
You will see the following "Setup - Mesa DMS" dialog box. Click on the "Next >" button in the above "Setup - Mesa DMS" dialog box. You will see the following "Setup - Mesa DMS" dialog box. In the above dialog box keep both of the check boxes checked (the default). Click on the "Next >" button in the above "Setup - Mesa DMS" dialog box.
You will see the following "Setup - Mesa DMS" dialog box. Click on the "Install" button in the above "Setup - Mesa DMS" dialog box. You will see the following "Setup - Mesa DMS" dialog box. Click on the "Finish" button in the above "Setup - Mesa DMS" dialog box.
Logging into MesaDMS When Mesa DMS launches for the first time, you will see the following "Mesa DMS Toolbar" window. Click on the "DMS" menu in the above "Mesa DMS Toolbar" window to see available Mesa DMSs. From the list of DMSs select the DMS you need access to. You should see the following login dialog box. Also note the name of the DMS you are connecting to in the login drag bar. In this example below, we are connecting to Test DMS. Enter your Username and Password in the login dialog box and then click on the Sign in button. On successful login you will see the DMS GUI (graphical user interface) window.
Anytime, while logged in, you can launch the Mesa DMS Toolbar by double-clicking on the Mesa DMS shortcut on your desktop that looks like this: or by clicking on the "Mesa DMS" icon in your Windows Quick Launch tool bar. Once the Mesa DMS Toolbar is open, you may also position it anywhere on your desktop so that it may later be recalled to the same position you last had it. Please note that you may not launch multiple Mesa DMS Toolbar instances. Changing your Workspace location To change the DMS workspace from the default location (your local C drive) to a networked drive that has the drive letter F, do the following proceedures: Login to a DMS. Next, close all DMS GUI windows but keep the toolbar open before proceeding. From the Mesa DMS Toolbar window, click on the Settings menu in the above window to see available options. Click on Workspace Location.... You will see a DMS Confirmation dialog box. similar to the following:
Click on the Yes button in the above DMS - Confirmation dialog box. Please note that you can't change your workspace location while you are logged into any DMS GUI instances. If you are logged in and try to change your workspace, you will see a similar dialog box explaining that you can't change the workspace while logged into a DMS: If you see this message, close all DMS GUI instances, *except* the Mesa DMS Toolbar, and then try changing your workspace location again. Next, type in F:\ within the File Name: area and then select the Open button, as pictured above.
After selecting the Open button, you will see the dialog asking you to confirm your new workspace location, as pictured above. Select the Yes button. You will now see that your location has been changed, as pictured above. The Workspace physical directory structure The following outlines the workspace directory structure. If your Workspace Location is F: then your checked out documents will be under the following folder. Note: DMS Server below will be replaced with the DMS server you check out documents from. F:\Mesa\DMS\Workspace\DMS Server\ If you are connecting to multiple DMS servers then the checked out documents will be under corresponding folders as shown below. DMS Server and DMS Server2 will be replaced with the name of each DMS server you connect to: F:\Mesa\DMS\Workspace\DMS Server\ F:\Mesa\DMS\Workspace\DMS Server2\ and so forth. If your Workspace Location is C:\Documents and Settings\myusername (the default location) then your checked out documents will be under the following folder in that DMS Server is replaced with the name of your DMS: C:\Documents and Settings\myusername\Mesa\DMS\Workspace\DMS Server\
