S.O.S. Handbook Serving Our School 2011-2012

General Information about S.O.S. Hours The Renton Christian School "Serving Our School"(SOS) program is designed to encourage Renton Christian parents to be involved with their children's education while helping to keep the cost of educating our children as reasonable as possible. The thousands of hours parents spend each year helping teachers and supporting school events make RCS both more cost effective and a better place for kids to grow and learn. The 2011-2012 rate schedule for S.O.S. hours is as follows: 15 hours per parent residing with the child(ren) (A single parent household is 15 hours or two parent household is 30 hours). Hours can be served by any parent or grandparent. Parents are responsible to fill out and submit the S.O.S. forms on or before the last day of school of the current school year. Forms are available in the school office and online. Your service is valued at $25.00 per hour. All hours not served and submitted during the designated time period will be billed to the June 2012 billing at the rate of $25.00 per hour. Hours served in excess of the required amount during the 2011-2012 school year are greatly appreciated, but will not roll over into the next school year. There are many ways to earn S.O.S. hours and some are listed in this handbook. Please note that all SOS opportunities are offered by Renton Christian School in advance and must be signed off by an RCS staff member or PTF event chair when completed. Watch the school calendar, go online to the RCS website at www.rentonchristian.org, or contact the PTF for more information.

Parent-Teacher Fellowship We hope you will join us in endeavoring to make Renton Christian School a place where all children are accepted, loved and learn to their maximum abilities. The purpose of your PTF is to support the mission of Renton Christian School by: Encouraging fellowship among parents, teachers and friends of the school. Building cooperation between all groups involved with the school. Encouraging communication between parents, administration and the school board. Pursuing topics of discussion that will help improve the quality of our children's education. Providing leadership and support for the fund raising activities of the school. Praying for the students, administration, staff and school board. Attend the Bi-Annual Parent Forum in October and February. If you would like to drop the PTF a note, there is a mailbox in the School s office. For additional information about how you can become involved, feel free to contact any of the following PTF Members.
