What can Language Intelligence do for you? Timing is critical. We understand that once the source survey is developed there is usually little time remaining for localization, especially if a simultaneous launch across all regions is desired. Services: Tailored to the Market Research Industry Language Intelligence has provided localization services for companies in the Market Research industry for over a decade. During this time, we have developed highly specialized services to meet your industry s unique needs. LOCALIZATION ASSESSMENT AND AWARENESS We review your source survey in order to identify any potential localization challenges. Your survey questions are carefully crafted so that your panels will understand them and answer meaningfully. However, there may be some hidden cultural complications within some questions. Will they be understood once translated? Are any cultural assumptions implied that do not apply to your target regions? Is there colloquial or idiomatic language used that will be difficult to convey in other languages? We address these questions before and during translation so that your company will not lose precious time after your survey is in field. TRANSLATION ACCURACY Translators must prove a comprehensive set of credentials in order to be selected to work with our market research clients. Besides having excellent language and writing skills, they understand market research methods and will properly convey the meaning of your questions to the target audience. What s more, they are experts in the survey s subject matter and how it relates to the target demographic. Tone, style, survey method (online, CATI, paper), endclient s industry, and target audience are all considered with great care so that the translations we provide will yield the results you seek from your survey participants. TOOLS & TECHNOLOGY Whatever your survey platform, we integrate our technology with yours in order to effectively streamline the localization process. We have developed tools that allow us to work with your survey content in virtually any format. These tools allow us to provide you with localized versions of your survey, in the format you require. Additionally, we build, update and maintain a translation memory of your content for future use. Maximizing use of translation memory technology when creating localized versions of your surveys ensures consistency, reduced cost, and accelerated time-to-field. OPEN ENDS AND OTHER/SPECIFY QUESTIONS Do your participants responses need to be translated or coded? We can provide these services on a rolling basis or after all quotas have been met. Either way, we apply methods which are significantly more cost effective and faster than traditional methods while still working with human translators. The advantage is that only human translators can properly translate and categorize the nuances and true meaning within a respondent s answer. The benefit is that you are provided with accurate data so you can report feedback to your client with confidence. 3

Whether your responses are captured in MS Excel or in an online tool, our linguists will code in their native languages for optimal accuracy and speed. We can use a pre-existing code book or create one for you. XML AND CONTENT MANAGEMENT Are your surveys authored in XML? Or, does your survey platform support an XML structure? We have developed technology that allows us to convert your content into a translation-friendly format while protecting your XML structure. Not using XML yet? We can help your team migrate to an XML-based platform. The benefits: easier transition from source to localized survey and seamless importing into your survey publishing tools. IN-COUNTRY REVIEW Does your client require an in-country review of the translated survey before it can be launched? If so, it is critical that feedback can be captured quickly and accurately. Reviewers need to be able to access the localized survey and make changes easily. Then, those changes need to be implemented into the final survey and the translation memory. We have developed an innovative solution to managing the in-country review process and capturing feedback.
