Right Move Perth is a new free smartphone App created by the Transport portfolio Department of Transport, Main Roads WA and the Public Transport Authority (Transperth) to better inform Perth commuters regarding incidents, conditions and events that may impact their journey within the Perth metropolitan area. Get the App! 2. What does Right Move App cost to download? Nothing! The Right Move App is FREE to download 3. Is Right Move Perth available on Android and ios? The Right Move Perth App is available on Android and ios phones. 4. Where can I download Right Move Perth? Visit your Google Play or App Store and search for Right Move Perth. The App is FREE to download. 5. What version of ios do I need to download the Right Move? Right Move Perth is supported on ios 6 and later. Audio notifications during MOVE mode are available on ios 7 and later. 6. What version of Android do I need to download the App? Right Move Perth is supported on Android 2.3 and later, but has extra features and is optimised for Android 4 and later. 7. Where can I learn how to use Right Move Perth? Using Right Move Perth 8. How do I use Right Move Perth? There are three tabs on your Right Move Perth dashboard INCIDENTS, ADD ROUTES and MOVE. Within each tab a menu lists the different functions of the App. INCIDENTS This tab lists and separates the types of incidents included in Right Move Perth: Local or metro area view you can view incidents nearby or in the entire metropolitan area Once you have saved your personalised routes, this will show relevant incidents If your personal calendar appointments have locations, incidents in that area will be included Weather or major events (e.g. Skyshow) Link to Get the Bigger Picture projects (www.getthebiggerpicture.com) New incident notifications ADD ROUTES This tab allows you to personalise Right Move Perth by adding or recording new routes. Enter your journey start and end points Right Move Perth displays potential disruptions on those routes and average travel times Once favourites are saved, you receive push notifications for any incidents on those routes
ADD ROUTES PLACES You can also save your favourite places (e.g. home) Enter the address and PLACE name Your PLACE will be marked with the green icon Once saved, you will receive notifications for any incidents in that area MOVE Record your unique trip and save as a favourite route: When you are ready to leave, press START DRIVING or START TRANSIT and MOVE mode will begin Audio notifications will advise of any incidents within 1km of your journey (available on Android and ios 7+ users) Once you ve reached your destination, press FINISH TRIP and you may save as a favourite route 9. Can I personalise my routes? See ADD ROUTES, which explains how you can personalise a route. 10. How do I record my own route? See MOVE, which explains recording your own route.
11. Does the App provide directions? Right Move Perth aims to inform you of traffic and transport information around Perth, but it's not made to replace turn by turn navigation systems, Apps or o software. It does however provide some basic directions when you do a search for routes inn the Add Routes section. Select ADD A NEW ROUTE, choose a start and end location, select onee of the results, and you will find directions at the bottom off the DETAILS section 12. What do the icons mean? Roadworks current andd planned Hazardous material chemical spills etc. Incident crashes, vehicle breakdowns, debris, andd traffic signal faults etc. Severe weather weather conditionss that may affect your journey Special event concerts, sporting events etc Bushfire Favourite place entered by user in the ADD ROUTES tab Flood www.rightmoveperth.wa.gov..au
13. How close are incidents before I get an audio notification in MOVE mode You will be notified of any incidents or roadworks within a 1km radius. 14. How many times will I receive a notification for the same incident? Push notifications are only sent once per incident. Spoken notifications will occur for the same incident when you drive near the incident or event. 15. What are the two icons in the top right of the home screen for? Nearby This icon will bring you back to the home screen and show the Google map 1km from your current location. Settings This icon provide options to change notification and data sharing settings. 16. What do the colours mean on the roads? Google provide the congestion layer for the maps within the App. The colours indicate the speed of traffic on the road compared to free flowing conditions. Green means traffic is flowing at a normal speed. The more red the roads become, the slower the speed of traffic on the road. Grey indicates there is no data available. 17. How do I turn on/off push notifications? Push notifications can be turned off in the settings screen by turning off Route Notifications and Major Event Notifications. They can be turned back on at any time to receive future incidents.
18. How do I find out more about the major infrastructure projects? You can click on any of the project icons on the map. For example, this icon is Elizabeth Quay. Some additional information on the project will appear with a link through to www.getthebiggerpicture.com.au for full details Background 19. Where does the information come from? Information within the Right Move Perth App is fed from multiple public and private sources. Main Roads WA Roadworks and traffic incident information is sourced in real time from Main Roads WA. This includes current and planned roadworks, crashes, traffic signals, road conditions, congestion and special events. Transperth (Public Transport Authority) Transperth provides real time information on disruptions to the public transport system such as changes to bus routes, scheduled works and maintenance. Also, special event information such as concerts and sporting events is also sourced from Transperth. Office of Road Safety The Office of Road Safety has provided advice in accordance with the Road Traffic Code 2000, which prohibits the driver of a motor vehicle from using a hand held mobile phone while the vehicle is moving, or is stationary but not parked. City of Perth Additional special event information in the CBD is provided by City of Perth.
Bureau of Meteorology Right Move Perth pulls weather warnings from the Bureau of Meteorology to notify users of weather that may affect a trip. Get the Bigger Picture (Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority) Major project information, including Elizabeth Quay and Perth City Link, is sourced from the Get the Bigger Picture website. 20. Does the App provide State wide information? Right Move Perth provides information on the Perth metropolitan area only from Two Rocks (north) to Mandurah (south) and The Lakes (east). 21. How do I provide feedback or report a fault in the Right Move Perth App? The best method is via email rightmoveperth@transport.wa.gov.au or visit and click contact us, so that we can respond appropriately to the fault or query. 22. Is this the Transperth App? No, there is a new official Transperth App, which is also FREE and available to download. The Transperth App and shows up to date public transport information within the Perth metropolitan area.
