Responsibilities Chief Executive In the role of Head of Paid Service in line with the Council s constitution be responsible for the effective management of the authority, and key strategic policy objectives and priorities. Lead responsibility for promoting and protecting health and wellbeing, tackling health inequalities, and improving healthcare quality. Responsible for strengthening the capacity across the whole public sector to improve the health of the population. Assistant Director Adult Social Care Lead the strategic direction of adult services working closely and effectively with commissioners and key stakeholders. DAAT Joint Commissioning Unit Manager Lead and coordinate the local delivery of national Drug and Alcohol Strategies across Health, Social Care and Criminal Justice settings. Lead the commissioning of alcohol and drug treatment services to meet the needs of the local population. Head of Learning Disability and Mental Health Provide strategic and operational leadership for a range of specialist services with statutory responsibilities. Accountable for the overall quality, performance and direction of the service and specifically the development of integration. Ensure the service embraces and develops innovative social work practise which make a meaningful difference to people lives. Maintain the highest standards in relation to children and adults safeguarding. Director of Economic Growth Providing strategic leadership and direction across a diverse range of services and functions contributing to the Economy of Darlington and Darlington as a place to live and work. Assistant Director Economic Initiative Responsible for the effective leadership of his/her service areas, contributing to outcomes for Darlington as a place, whilst ensuring delivery of targets.
Assistant Director Highways, Design & Projects Responsible for the effective leadership of Highways, Design and Strategic Capital Projects contributing to outcomes for Darlington as a place. Lead the Human Resource (HR) including partnership with Xentrall Shared Services for HR and Finance. Provide strategic and operational advice and support to Members, Officers of the Council and its partners, whilst ensuring delivery of targets. Corporate Assurance Manager Provide leadership and guidance on the information assurance agenda to meet the national standards required to be safe in its responsibilities related to Information Governance Records Management.
Head of Culture Head the overall operation, delivery and strategic direction of Cultural Services, including cultural facilities, events and programming, sports and physical activity programme, museum management, arts management, library service and CCTV Control Room. Head of Housing Services Lead the strategic direction of Housing Services working closely and effectively with key stakeholders. Head of Early Years Responsible for the effective management of Early Years and Sure Start services across the Borough of Darlington. Head of 11-19 Learning and Skills To Follow Senior Specialist Psychologist To work with schools and looked after children service to deliver and develop specialist psychological services. Head of 16-19 Provision To Follow Head of First Contact and Locality Operational responsibility for the delivery of family support services to children, young people and their families or carers. Ensure the delivery is in accordance with strategy and service specification, agreed with Children s Services Commissioners and Health Commissioners.
Head of Looked After, Youth Offending & Edge of Care Services Lead the strategic direction of children s social care and youth offending services, working closely and effectively with key stakeholders and commissioners. Responsibility for operational management and the continuous service improvement and delivery. Head of School & Pupil Support Services Principal Advisor on issues relating to processes and systems for admissions, Education Other Than at School (EOTAS) and Specialist Education Needs (SEN) assessment, and provision. Develop policy to ensure clear strategic linkages between school pupil placement planning and available capital investment. Responsible for operational delivery and strategy relating to statutory school transport services and adult transport services.
