Many of the colleges or universities send information to accepted students via email. Make sure to set-up your email account at the universities where you have been accepted. Then, check the university website for scholarship opportunities as well as send an email to the financial aid office asking for scholarship information. Also, be sure to Like the Facebook page and follow on Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest the universities where you have been accepted. There is a lot of worthwhile information that is distributed through social media. Students and Parents: Please notify the guidance office with any scholarship offers. Even if the student is declining the offer, the guidance office wants to know about it. We try to track all offers made to our students in an attempt to get a clear picture of the monies available. Thank you! MARK YOUR CALENDAR Honors Day is Friday, May 1 at 7:30 am in the Mater Dei auditorium. All seniors who are accepting scholarships and awards will be recognized. Parents and family members are invited to attend. Current Scholarship Information Once you have been accepted to a college or university, please email the admissions office and ask if there are additional forms that have to be filled out for scholarships. Also, check the school's financial aid or scholarship web page for additional information. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Scholarship is awarded to a deserving minority female student. Successful candidates have a minimum GPA of 2.5/4.0 scale, demonstrate financial need, and are attending college in the fall of 2015. Applications are available in the main office. Deadline: March 20, 2015.

Student Financial Aid Association, Inc. - awards scholarship funds for several community groups. The following 2 scholarships are available: A.W. Lumley Memorial Scholarship is for students planning careers in YMCA work, ministry, or education. Pat Roper Memorial Musical Scholarship is for students seeking a career in music. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of character, motivation, school record, career goals, ability to carry through education goals and financial need. E'ville Iron Street Rods Automotive Education Scholarship is a $3,000 scholarship and is open to seniors enrolled in Auto Body or Auto/Diesel Mechanics classes who plan to continue their education in the automotive area. Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Entry Level Nurse Scholarship awards a $2500 to a direct descendant of a graduate of the Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in Evansville, IN. The student must be pursuing an education in order to obtain a license for Registered Nursing. Applications are available in the main office and at www.deaconess.com. Deadline: March 30, 2015. American Society for Qualify (ASQ) Evansville-Owensboro Section 0915 offers a $500 scholarship to a graduating senior. Selection criteria include: Academic performance, participation in school and community functions, and application information. Daughters of Isabella Scholarship is a $500 scholarship given to a senior girl who is planning to attend college in the fall. Applications are available in the main office. Deadline: March 31, 2015. Indiana Oil & Natural Gas Scholarship is available to students who have a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 scale, have financial need, plan to pursue a career in the oil and natural gas industry, and are a resident of Indiana who is attending an accredited college in the fall of 2015. Applications are available in the main office. Deadline: April 1, 2015. Charlier Christian Leadership Scholarship - eligible students must be attending college in the fall, demonstrate financial need, have a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 scale, demonstrate leadership potential, and demonstrate an active faith and a visible Christian witness. Amount varies per recipient. Apply online at www.charlierscholarship.org. Deadline: Extended to April 1, 2015. Kiwanis North Side of Evansville Foundation - Edward and Ruse Pues Memorial Scholarship awards $1,000 scholarships to seniors from Evansville high schools. Factors include: financial circumstances, satisfactory academic performance, school and community activities, and goals for the future. Filing the FAFSA is required. Applications are available in the main office. Deadline: April 6, 2015. Legal Secretaries of Southwestern Indiana, Inc. Mary Alice Rapp Scholarship is a $1,000 combined awarded by Legal Secretaries of Southwestern Indiana and the John L. Sanders Memorial Evansville Bar Foundation to a senior planning a career in the legal field. Applications are available in the main office. Deadline: April 10, 2015. Greater Evansville United States Bowling Congress Association Scholarship awards $1000 to a high school senior who is enrolling in an accredited institution and also meets at least one of the eligibility requirements listed on the application. Other criteria include academic achievement, leadership, community involvement, and other activities. Financial need is not assessed. Applications are available in the main office. Deadline: April 15, 2015.

Evansville Home Economists offer 2 scholarships available this year. One scholarship is for a 2-year college student and one for a 4-year college for student planning a career in home economics/family and consumer science. The scholarship totals $250 per year for a total of $1,000 over 4 years. Applications are available in the main office. Deadline: April 15, 2015. Evansville Alumni Chapter, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Scholarship awards a minimum $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors. Applications available in the main office. Deadline: April 15, 2015. Mater Dei Men s Club Scholarships will award $500 to one senior boy and one senior girl for each of these three scholarships. Each of these scholarships is due to Mrs. Reneer. Applications are available in the main office and at www.materdeiwildcats.com under the Academics tab: Deadline: April 15, 2015. Jack Oliver Scholarship will be awarded to students who have contributed to Mater Dei athletics through their participation and support. The ideal candidates participate in Mater Dei athletics because of their love for Mater Dei. This candidate will most likely return to Mater Dei to help athletics after they have graduated. Jack Siemers Scholarship will be awarded to individuals who have shown leadership in athletics. Applicants must be in good academic standing, participate in sports, and stand out as a leader. Len Will Scholarship will be given to senior athletes who excelled in multiple sports. Requirements for this scholarship include a minimum of four varsity letters and participation in Mater Dei sports for a minimum of eight seasons. The Bret Schnur Memorial Wrestling Scholarship ($1000) was created to recognize a wrestler or wrestling manager for his determination, dedication, positive attitude, hard work and team approach to wrestling and Mater Dei. To be eligible, a candidate must be a senior, have participated in wrestling or been a wrestling manager during each year he was enrolled at Mater Dei, have a minimum 3.0 GPA, and plan to attend a 2- or 4-year college or university. The Gerald Parkinson Memorial Scholarship is created to recognize a senior boy that was a four year participant in both Football and Wrestling while at Mater Dei. This senior will have shown leadership through hard work, dedication, and positive attitude with a focus on being a team player. This senior should also show commitment to Mater Dei off of the playing field. A candidate must have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.8, plan to attend a college or university and complete the application. A student does not have to be a varsity letter winner to apply. Applications are available in the main office and at www.materdeiwildcats.com under the Academics tab: Deadline: April 15, 2015. Father William Deering Memorial Scholarship will award $500 to a MD senior who has participated in the MD Music Department and has a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher. Students must also submit a letter of application, a resume, and one letter of recommendation. Applications are available in the main office and at www.materdeiwildcats.com under the Academics tab. Deadline: April 15, 2014.

Mater Dei Friends & Alumni Association Memorial Scholarship will award $1000 to a MD senior who ranks in the top one-third of the graduating class and have at least a 3.0 GPA. Applications must include an essay of at least 300 words indicating what attending Mater Dei High School has meant to you. Applications are available in the main office and at www.materdeiwildcats.com under the Academics tab. Deadline: April 15, 2015. Thomas O. Tighe Memorial Tennis Scholarship will award $600 to a MD senior who played varsity tennis in one or more of their years at Mater Dei, has a 3.0 or better cumulative GPA, and plans to attend a 2 or 4 year college or university. A brief essay is also required. Applications are available in the main office and at www.materdeiwildcats.com under the Academics tab. Deadline: April 15, 2015. The Michelle Diane Greenwell Memorial College Scholarship was created to recognize a student for his/her high moral character, commitment to helping others, strong work ethic, admirable academic performance, and involvement in extracurricular activities. A preference will be given to students that have faced adversity in their lives or a demonstrated financial need. The scholarship is renewable for up to four years of college if they have a minimum 3.25 GPA. The amount of the scholarship varies due to market performance. Applications are available in the main office and at www.materdeiwildcats.com under the Academics tab. Deadline: April 15, 2015. The Edward E. Meyer Trust will award (6) $1000 scholarships to MD seniors. Seniors with at least a 2.5 GPA who will be attending an Indiana college or university (with the exception of Indiana University) on a fulltime basis are eligible to apply. Applications are available in the main office. Deadline: April 15, 2015. Germania Mannerchor Scholarship is available to seniors who have taken 3 years of German and plan to enroll as a German major or minor. The successful candidate must also possess good leadership potential as well as desirable personal and citizenship qualities. Applications are available in the main office. Deadline: April 17, 2015. Anne Elizabeth Rosenblatt Gehring Memorial Scholarship is a $500 scholarship for a Catholic individual who has been accepted into an approved nursing school to receive a degree as a registered nurse. Applications are available in the main office. Deadline: May 1, 2015. Kyle L. Parker Memorial Golf Scramble Scholarship is a $4,000 award. Applicants must reside in Vanderburgh, Posey, Warrick, Gibson, or Henderson County; be graduating high school and planning to attend college in the fall of 2015; be able to demonstrate and provide documentation of a commitment to community service; and have at least one parent or guardian who is deceased. Applications are available in the main office. Deadline: May 1, 2015. Balanced Man Scholarship is for SENIOR MALES ATTENDING IU. $500 award will be given to 6 outstanding males entering IU in the fall of 2015. Diamond Valley Federal Credit Union offers a non-renewable $1,000 scholarship. The applicant or the parents or grandparents must be members of DVFCU for 1 year or more by May 5, 2014. Vanderburgh County Extension Homemakers Association Scholarship is a $1,000 4-year renewable scholarship available to Vanderburgh County residents. Applicants must major in consumer and family science or a related field such as dietetics, restaurant and institutional management, interior design, fashion merchandising, child development, etc. Applications are available in the main office. Aspiring Fashion Professional Scholarship is a $1,000 award. This scholarship will be awarded to a student interested in pursuing a fashion degree at a postsecondary institution. This scholarship will be awarded to a student who is interested in pursuing an animation career path at an accredited postsecondary institution. Abbott & Fenner - The A&F Scholarships are available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any accredited post secondary institution. Include your degree/major, why you selected it, and how this degree/major will help you achieve your goals. The essay should be between 500 and 1000 words. Choose the US Student Registration and follow the instructions. ************************Attention Gentlemen************************************ Registering with Selective Service must be done within 30 days of your 18 th birthday. What is Selective Service? This government agency s job is to provide untrained manpower for the Armed Forces if there is a national emergency. By registering, you add your name to the list of all the men in the nation, ages 18 25. If you don t register, you are breaking the law. You also cannot qualify for federal student grants or loans for college, job training benefits, and many state and federal jobs. Go to www.sss.gov to register online. Planning College Campus Visits: The most important way to learn about whether or not a college is right for you is to visit the campus. If you would like to make a college visit, the following procedures must be followed: 1. Make a reservation with the college admissions office. 2. At least a week before your visit, bring a signed note from your parents to the main office with the date of your visit. 3. Ask all of your teachers to fill out the lavender excused absence form and return to the main office. 4. After attending the visit, bring an official note from the college admissions office to the main office so the absence may be excused.

ecampustours.com is a free website offering virtual tours of over 1200 campuses. The site also includes many student-focused services to assist in choosing a college and understanding financial aid. Ball State University Preview Day Visit cms.bsu.edu/admissions to register for the Preview Day or to schedule an individual visit from 10-1 daily. Indiana State University Sycamore Preview Day is a special event for high school students, transfer students, and others interested in learning more about Indiana State University and college life. Parents and families are welcomed (and encouraged) to attend. Visitors will tour the campus, meet with academic advisors, learn about financial aid programs and scholarships and enjoy lunch in the residence hall dining facilities. Preview Days are scheduled for February 16 and April 18. For information or to register to attend e-mail admissions@indstate.edu or 1-800-GO-TO-ISU. Indiana University s Discover IU Days are offered Monday-Friday most weeks of the year and many Saturdays. Marian University Fall Preview Day Visitors will meet faculty and students, learn about academic programs, tour the campus and attend a football game. Murray State University Racer Day Daily visits are also available most days from 9:00-2:00. Visit www.murraystate.edu/visit.htm for more information. Purdue University - Daily visits are available year-round four times each day, Monday through Friday and include a presentation and student-guided walking tour. With some exceptions, daily visits last about 2.5 hours. During the school year, an abbreviated Daily Visit is available most Saturdays. Southern Illinois University at Carbondale offers individualized visits Monday through Friday throughout the year, as well as on select Saturdays during the school year. Students have the opportunity to meet with an Admissions Coordinator to go over admissions policies, financial assistance, housing and any additional interests. You may also request an appointment with a representative in your major. This visit option requires at least one week's notice. University of Evansville The University of Evansville encourages an individual campus visit. Please register at least 5 business days prior to your campus visit. Weekday appointments are scheduled 9:00 a.m. 2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Our last campus tour departs at 3:00 p.m. For Saturday visits, please refer to the visit calendar. Saturday appointments begin at 9:30 a.m. A typical visit consists of an information session with an admission counselor who will be able to discuss with you individually our admission criteria, financial and scholarship opportunities as well as information about housing, dining services and student life. Please visit www.uky.edu/admissions/visitorcenter or call 1-859-257-3595. Reservations need to be made 2-3 weeks in advance. University of Southern Indiana Southern Hospitality Days Individual visits are another option we provide for students interested in visiting USI. During an individual visit, you will be able to tour campus, housing, and meet with an admission counselor. Requests to meet a faculty member should be submitted when you schedule your visit to campus. Make an appointment to visit campus by registering online or by calling USI Admission at 812-464-1765 or 800-467-1965. USI asks that you give them a 48 hour notice to set up your appointment with an admission counselor and/or faculty.
