1 March 06, 2009 REMINDER: All CSS Providers - New Requirements for QP Service Provision Percentages Beginning March 1, 2009, the SPA requires that Community Support providers meet a 35% QP service measure, and then in September 2009, a 50% service measure, up from the 25% benchmark that has been in place. For additional information, click on the link to the right. RE-ENDORSEMENT: BUSINESS VERIFICATION Many Community Intervention providers began providing services in March For providers that received a three year endorsement, the end of the initial full endorsement period is approaching. Please note important dates below regarding initiation of re-endorsement related to business verification and view link for more information regarding service(s)/site(s) endorsement. Records Management & Documentation Manual The Division has posted a revised records management and documentation manual that is effective April 1, To access this document, visit the Division s web site by clicking on the link to the right. Child & Family Team Minute: Care Review - What is it? How can it help? Do I have to? If the child and family team needs some new ideas, a fresh look at a difficult situation, or some encouragement to hang in there and stay strength based consider care review. The care review committee is comprised of LME staff, provider representatives, school system representatives, DSS representatives, DJJDP representatives parent advocate/support. The child and family team attends and together we work on solutions. Care review is required for request for admission to state operated facilities (Wright School, Whitaker School, JUH PRTF) as well as request for out of state placements. Care review is a support to child and family teams in the community. Meetings are scheduled on the 2nd Wednesday at 9 am and 4th Wednesday at 2 pm. 2 March 06, 2009 PAGE 2 Super Saturday - Free Tax Assistance for Those in Need The IRS is spearheading a cross-functional campaign to promote March 21, 2009, as Super Saturday: Get Free Tax Help Today! March 21, 2009 is designated as a day to provide extra service to taxpayers. Super Saturday is a nationwide effort and all 170+ IRS walk in sites called Taxpayer Assistance Centers will be open on March 21. Many of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance will also be open to provide additional services. To find a local Volunteer Income Tax Assistance site, please call NC Council Annual Directory Do you want your services in a Directory used by thousands of MH/DD/ SA professionals in North Carolina everyday? If so, please act quickly - the deadline to receive your information is March 6, 2009 (payment can be received at later date). Intensive In-Home Services Training The NC Council is sponsoring a 12-hour training program for providers on April 16, 17, :00 a.m. 4:00 p.m. Staff who provide or intend to provide Intensive In-Home Services must have 12 hours of training on the specific service. Training for Residential Treatment Providers Join TIP training for child and adolescent residential treatment providers on April 23 & 24, :00 a.m. 4:00 p.m. at the Royal Conference Center, Raleigh, NC. A free bonus day on May 6, The Business Side of Successful Residential Treatment is also being offered! This three-day training event offers training for group home managers and staff or other residential care providers who serve children and adolescents.
