2 Dear Community Member, In response to your requests, we have created this directory of mental health services for Yancey County. We have tried to make it as comprehensive as possible but it is a difficult task to keep up with all of the changes in the mental health system. If you are not finding what you are looking for, we encourage you to call Western Highlands Network at , or visit They are a great resource for navigating the mental health system. We will keep an updated version of this directory on our website at If you know of any services that should be included or that are no longer available, please contact us at or gchs@trhd.dst.nc.us so that we can update the directory. 16 About Healthy Yancey Healthy Yancey is a partnership of concerned citizens working together to improve the quality of health for all people in Yancey County. The Healthy Yancey partnership is certified by the Governor's Task Force for Healthy Carolinians. Based on the 2009 Community Health Assessment, Healthy Yancey now has 3 main focus areas: 1. Lifestyle Choices, Including obesity prevention, nutrition education and physical activity. 2. Access to Care, Including the high cost and lack of health insurance. 3.
