2 Welcome to Give the revolutionary charitable donation app. If you are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, you already have a page on Give. This toolkit shows you how to customize your nonprofit s page with your logo, pictures, fundraising campaigns and other promotional tools. The Give App Nonprofit Toolkit Page 2 of 12

3 Get Access The first and most important step - download Give from the App Store. After you ve downloaded the Give app, in the upper left hand corner, tap the Menu icon and tap Login. Tap Sign Up to create a Login and password. Next, go the Give website at giveapp.org. Scroll down to Nonprofit Access and complete the form to request access to your organization s page on Give. We will contact you by phone using the number listed in Guidestar or your website. Once we validate your affiliation, we will link your account to your organization s page on Give. It s that easy! 5 Go to the Nonprofit Admin Site On the Give website, click My Nonprofit. Sign in using the same Login and password you created on the app. Click your Organization name to customize the Logo, the Featured Image, the Description and Links. The Give App Nonprofit Toolkit Page 5 of 12

6 Customize Your Nonprofit s Profile Logo Upload Click Upload and Crop to upload a custom logo image for your organization. The ideal image size is at least 188x188px and max file size is 70kb. Acceptable file types are.png,.gif and.jpg. Your logo image is a big part of your organization s identity on the Give app It appears next to your organization s name on search results It is used to identify your organization on the Featured Nonprofits carousel If users favorite your organization, your logo will appear on their My Favorites carousel Featured Image Upload Click Upload and Crop to upload a custom image for your organization s front page. 7 Customize Your Nonprofit s Profile Description Text in this field will appear on the front page of your organization s space on Give. Check the Do not show descriptive information from Guidestar box to only show your custom text. If you want to include the Guidestar information, leave this box unchecked. If the box is unchecked, the Guidestar information will appear first, followed by any custom text. Links Your organization s space on Give has a page dedicated to links. Use the Add Link button to create links to your website, social media pages, videos or other promotional sites. The Give App Nonprofit Toolkit Page 7 of 12

8 Customize Your Nonprofit s Campaigns Description Your campaign page is an opportunity to promote specific fundraising efforts. To create a campaign, click Add Campaign. Use the fields provided to enter a Campaign Title, Fundraising Goal $, Start Date, End Date, Description, Featured Image and Links to any websites that will help promote your campaign. The Raised Via Give $ field will automatically update with any contributions made to the campaign through Give. The Other Donations $ field can be used to manually enter donations made through other channels. On the Campaign page in the app, Give will display the total amount raised by adding the Raised Via Give and the Other Donations amounts together. Donations made to campaigns will be earmarked with the Campaign Title by our payment processor, Network for Good. The Give App Nonprofit Toolkit Page 8 of 12

10 Frequently Asked Questions Why should my Nonprofit use Give? Give is intended to complement your nonprofit s existing fundraising activities. Our goal is to be a platform for Nonprofit self-promotion and to make charitable giving simple, secure and tax-deductible for donors. Anyone with an iphone or ipad can download Give for free, find any 501(c)(3) organization in the country and send money in a matter of minutes. Is there a sign-up fee? No. Your Nonprofit pays nothing to get started with Give. You can register and begin customizing your page, free of charge. How are donations processed? Donations are processed by our nonprofit partner Network for Good, a Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Alliance accredited industry leader in processing online donations. Network for Good, in technical terms, is a donor-advised fund, a 501(c) (3) organization that collects contributions from donors and distributes such contributions to 501(c)(3) organizations in good standing with the IRS as designated by the donor. Who is Network for Good? Network for Good is a nonprofit social enterprise that empowers nonprofits and corporate partners to unleash generosity and advance good causes. Network for Good helps nonprofits raise funds for their missions through simple, affordable and effective online fundraising services and offers free training through an online learning center, interactive online community and webinar series. Network for Good also works with companies to help refine a cause strategy perfectly suited to business and philanthropic goals and implements effective cause initiatives powered by their proven donation platform. Network for Good has processed more than $1 billion in donations for more than 100,000 nonprofits since their 2001 founding by AOL, Cisco and Yahoo! What are the transaction fees? We want every donation to have the greatest possible impact, so we have kept our pricing as low as possible. A 4.75% grant is made to Network for Good to support the expense of maintaining the technology to process and distribute your donations. This is the only deduction made to the donation. 11 Frequently Asked Questions When will my Nonprofit receive donations? Payments are sent to nonprofits on the 15th of each month that include all donations made in the previous month. For example, donations processed in February will be paid on March 15th. How can I change the address listed for my Nonprofit? To change the address listed for your Nonprofit profile in GuideStar go to the Guidestar Account page. Updates will be shared with Give and Network for Good for future payments. How will donations be sent to my Nonprofit? Checks will be sent to your nonprofit s address as listed in GuideStar and will include an insert describing how to access the donation. If Give users choose to give anonymously, we will not include contact information in the donor information. What donor information does Give provide to my Nonprofit? Registered Nonprofits on Give have access to donor information that includes name, , physical address, amount of donation, and the date/time of the donation. However, donors are given the option to donate anonymously, in which case only the amount and date/time of the donation is provided. Can donors set up recurring donations to my Nonprofit? If donors opt to keep their credit card on file, they have the option to authorize our processing partner, Network for Good, to charge their credit card on a predetermined schedule (monthly, quarterly or annually) to process a recurring donation. Neither Give nor Network for Good store donor credit card numbers we only store an authorization code that verifies the recurring transaction. We use industry-leading Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to keep the donor s personal information as secure as possible and protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of the information. How can my Nonprofit access donor information? To access donor information, you can login to Network for Good s donation tracking report at Network for Good Account. You will need to establish a login using your Nonprofit s nine-digit EIN number. Once you are registered, you will have access to a realtime online report detailing information about your donors who have chosen to share their contact information. Can my Nonprofit receive payments electronically? Yes! To get your donations more quickly (and to save paper!), have them sent to you electronically via electronic funds transfer (EFT).
