1 FACULTY RESEARCH The (UTHSC) College of Nursing invites applications for the position of a full-time tenure track position as a faculty member in the department of Advanced Practice and Doctoral Studies. Memphis, Knoxville and Chattanooga. The UTHSC campuses include colleges of Allied Health Sciences, PhD Program developed in Carries out research program, secures external funding in support of research, teaches in graduate programs, advises doctoral students and mentors students and faculty in research. The UTHSC embraces four missions: education, research, clinical care and institutional service. Teaching contributions are expected as is continued research productivity and scholarly contributions. Candidates eligible for appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor rank will have a well-established program of funded research. Unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse in Tennessee or eligibility to obtain licensure in Tennessee required. Earned doctoral degree from an accredited university required. Documented high quality didactic teaching experience in nursing is desired. Active engagement in appropriate professional organizations is required. Memphis, Knoxville and Chattanooga. The UTHSC embraces four missions: education, research, clinical care and institutional service. Expertise in clinical teaching and active engagement in appropriate professional organizations is required. Evidence of scholarship including research and/or grants are highly desirable. Academic rank is commensurate with degree and experience.

The UTHSC campuses include colleges of Health Professions, Accredited since Teaching responsibilities include both didactic course work and clinical supervision of students. The UTHSC embraces four missions: education, research, clinical care and institutional service. Responsibilities for this role include clinical practice assignment, in addition to educational responsibilities. Research/scholarship activities as well as service responsibilities will be determined in collaboration with Department Chair. Experience in one or more of these areas: medical-surgical nursing, critical care, psychiatric-mental health, pediatrics, reproductive-women s health, leadership-management, and teaching in a professional nursing program is desired. Minimal requirements for the position include a RN license and a Master of Science in Nursing. All degrees must be from an accredited program. RESPONSIBILITIES provide leadership and mentorship in the recruitment, selection, onboarding, professional/career development, and retention of faculty; conduct annual performance and planning reviews of all faculty (non-tenure track, tenure track, tenured, volunteers, affiliate) to assist faculty members in developing their full potential as educators, researchers/scholars, clinicians, and leaders, to assure they set and meet career goals that are consistent with goals of the college; promote a positive climate in the college that will support achievement of college goals and excellence in teaching, research/creative and other scholarly activities, service, and, if applicable, clinical care; along with the college executive team, provide leadership in the design, implementation, and evaluation of the strategic plans of UTHSC and CON; facilitate college collaborations with other professionals, colleges, institutions, and community organizations; equitably assign faculty workloads, including teaching assignments, and work sites to assure that an appropriate balance of time and effort is committed to teaching, research/scholarship, service, and, if applicable, clinical care; assume responsibility for all finances of the faculty area and ensure that all UTHSC and CON policies and guidelines for financial management are met; manage and evaluate staff assigned within the department who are a direct report to the chair; assist with space allocation; manage faculty requests for professional and annual leaves, budget, equipment, and space; and assist with the development and revision of CON policies and procedures. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Doctoral degree in nursing from an accredited university Licensure as a Registered Nurse with the ability to obtain a Tennessee RN license Documented accomplishments and national recognition in teaching, research, and/or clinical care
