3 Towns County Elementary The mission of the Towns County Elementary School is to nurture, guide, and challenge all students in a safe environment so that they become life long learners, creative problem solvers, and competent decision makers. Dr. Sandra Page, Principal Mr. Shannon Moss, Assistant Principal Towns County Elementary School is located on a beautiful mountain campus with 438 students enrolled. The climate of our school is warm, supportive, and challenging. Our highly qualified faculty of 37 teachers and 27 paraprofessionals meet the needs of students in grades Kindergarten through Fifth grades by offering a variety of academic program including special education, English Language Learners (ESOL), gifted education, Early Intervention Program (EIP), and 21st Century After School and Community Learning Center Afterschool Program. Music, Physical Education, Art, Media, Career Explorations and Academic Enrichment. Towns County Elementary School offers clubs such as DRUM, Chorus, Student Council, CHAMPS (Drug Prevention), SOAR-Reading, MORE-Math and 4-H Reading TCES 2014 CRCT Grades 3-5 Combined % Meets or Exceeds vs. State ELA 3-5 Math 3-5 Science 3.5 Soc. Studies TCES State TCES celebrated notable test scores in comparison to our RESA on the 2014 CRCT 4th grade Reading-2nd in our RE- SA with a 98.6% pass rate 5th grade Reading-1st in our RE- SA with a 100% pass rate 4th grade Science-1st in our RESA with a 97.2% pass rate 4th grade Social Studies-2nd in our RESA with a 97.2% pass rate 4th grade Social Studies had the highest exceeds rate in our RESA with 55.6% of students exceeding the standard

5 Towns County Middle The mission of Towns County Middle School is to inspire every teacher and student to think, to learn, and to achieve at their highest potential. Towns County Middle School is a small school with approximately 248 students in 6 th, 7 th, and 8 th grades. Qualified, dedicated teachers, many of whom attended school here, provide a culture where people know and care about each other. To support the development and well being of all students, the counselor, intervention specialist, and Family Connection provide student support through individual and group counseling. A full-time police resource officer helps with preventive measures. The implementation of the middle school concept is a factor in the overall success of TCMS. Students and teachers are divided into teams by grade level which provides a sense of belonging and seeks to address the special physical, social, mental, and emotional changes associated with adolescence. Georgia Performance Standards guide the curriculum and assessment and research-based instructional strategies facilitate learning for all students. TCMS students ranked 2nd in the Pioneer RESA region for 7th grade science with a pass rate of 94.3%, and 8th grade ELA at 98.9%.

7 Awards & Successes Towns County High The mission of Towns County High School is to ensure that all students experience educational success. Dr. Connie Hobbs, Principal Mr. Jim Melton, Assistant Principal Over the past two years, Towns County High School has seen remarkable results in regards to student achievement. Towns County High School s 2014 cohort graduation rate was 88.8, up from 86.7 in Towns County High School s class of 2014 had the best SAT scores since 2008, with a Best Reading score since Best Math score since Best Writing score since At 999, the best Math and Reading scores back as Towns County High School ranked 75 out of 415 schools with SAT data for the class of 2014 and third among the 20 Pioneer RESA High Schools. Towns County High School 2014 EOCT results: Towns County High School ranked first or second in 5 out of 8 EOCT areas in the Pioneer RESA. Towns County High School improved EOCT pass rates in 6 out of the 8 EOCT areas. Towns County High School experienced the largest increases in the following EOCT areas Coordinate Algebra showed an improvement from 30.3% pass rate in 2013 to 52.13% pass rate in Economics showed an improvement from 77.5% in 2013 to 92% pass rate in Towns County High School ranked number one in 2014 in Pioneer RESA with a CCRPI score of Towns County High School had 100% pass rate on the Georgia High School Writing Test. 75% of TCHS seniors applied to Colleges or Universities during TC Apply to College Day TCHS awarded 30 Dual Enrollment/College Credits TCHS had 38 students earn credits within our work based learning program HOSA - 4 state winners and one national winner High School Membership = 52 FBLA - 12 state winners and 4 national winners High School Membership = 134 FFA - students placed top 10 in numerous CDE competitions throughout the year, won speaking competitions at the state level, and were national finalists in speaking and livestock showings. High School Membership = business students received Georgia Best Certification through the Georgia Department of Labor's Student Soft Skill and Ethical Training Program. Towns County Ag-Mechanics program is industry certified - only program certified in the north region. Towns County FBLA - Superior Chapter, Gold Seal Chapter and Outstanding Chapter Awards EOPA: 52 CTAE students (Business, Health Care and Agri- Mechanics) received national certification in their pathway this past school year by taking and passing a national assessment TCHS 2014 EOCT % Passing vs. State TCHS State

9 CCRPI The CCRPI is Georgia s statewide accountability system, implemented in 2012 to replace the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) measurement, after the U.S. Department of Education granted Georgia s waiver from NCLB on Feb. 9, It measures schools and school districts on an easy-to-understand 100-point scale, helping parents and the public better understand how schools are performing in a more comprehensive manner than the pass/fail system previously in place under AYP. 10 Towns County Schools Facilities Towns County Schools offers a unique setting with all three schools being housed on one campus. The elementary school houses kindergarten through fifth grade and 9th District s Headstart/Pre-K program. The middle and high school reside in the same building being separated by administrative offices, cafeteria, and media center. All three schools share an auditorium. Athletic facilities include a football field, track, baseball field, softball field, tennis courts, soccer field, high school gymnasium, and middle school gymnasium. The facilities of Towns County Schools are a testament to the value the citizens of Towns County place on education, athletics, and their children. Towns County Schools became the first public school system in Georgia with a wind turbine on June 30, The wind project, a partnership between TCS, Blue Ridge Mountain EMC and the Georgia Wind Working Group, provides a unique learning experience for students, faculty and visitors.
