3 SEI Rerganizatin OSD directed that the CMMI Prject be remved frm the SEI s prgram plan SEI is perated by Carnegie Melln University Ratinale: CMMI is a mature prduct Des nt fall within the nrmal activity f a Federally Funded Research & Develpment Center CMMI cre funding was deleted in 2011 Carnegie Melln has created a new rganizatin t be called Level 5 Strategies CMMI will be hsted there Sme existing CMMI persnnel will mre t Level 5 New Directr being hired Select additinal prgrams/activities will als be hsted 3

7 Data Management Mdel The Enterprise Data Management Cuncil (EDM Cuncil) and the entered int a strategic partnership t create a detailed and appraisable data management mdel (DMM). The DMM defines the cmpnents f data management at the business level s that rganizatins can assess themselves against dcumented best practices and imprve their management f data resurces acrss functinal, business unit and gegraphic bundaries. The cre DMM cntent was develped via cllabratin amng data management practitiners, peratinal managers, IT prfessinals and representatives f varius lines-f-business. The cmpnents and incremental capability measurement criteria are based in practice and fcus n what is required t achieve alignment n strategy, implement gvernance mechanisms, manage peratinal cmpnents, define dependencies, align with IT capabilities, ensure data quality and integrate trusted data int dwnstream applicatins. 7
