With this in mind, Micrsft is expanding cre functinality f Micrsft Dynamics GP, as well as making additinal prduct enhancements t meet the ever changing needs f clients, with the ultimate gal f increasing prductivity and efficiency. A new mdule fr Micrsft Dynamics GP, Advanced Human Resurces, allws HR prfessinals and staff t strategically manage yur rganizatin s mst imprtant business asset- yur emplyee. Advanced Human Resurces includes the fllwing cmpnents and capabilities: The Emplyee Health and Wellness Manager allws users t track all required immunizatins, vaccinatins and tests, as well as recrd the test results. Having this data available will enable easy searches n wh is past due r scheduled fr a particular time. In additin, varius reprts and ad hc reprting using SmartLists will be available. The Certificatin, License, and Training Manager enables users t track emplyee certificatins, licensing, and training, alng with expiratin dates and renewal perids fr certificatins and licensing. In additin, varius reprts and ad hc reprting with SmartLists will be available. The Benefits Enrllment Manager takes advantage f the Windws SharePint Services platfrm and Micrsft Business Prtal t enable Web-based benefit enrllment fr annual benefit enrllments, new emplyee benefit enrllments, and life change benefit enrllments. This enhancement allws the rganizatin t setup and deply an n-line benefit enrllment in a quick and efficient manner. Benefits Enrllment Manager allws HR staff t maintain cntrl with flexible cnfiguratin and benefit assignment t each grup f emplyees. The Benefits Lifecycle Manager enables users t create HR benefit, payrll benefit, and payrll deductins recrds that are nt immediately effective. At the apprpriate time, the user will be able t activate the recrds, while tracking past setup recrds in histry. This white paper is designed t prvide Micrsft Dynamics GP custmers and partners with examples f hw this slutin will help t autmate and streamline the prcessing f emplyee infrmatin. Emplyee Health and Wellness Manager Many rganizatins are required by law r industry t maintain accurate recrds pertaining t emplyee health and wellness. Typical emplyee data that needs t be maintained includes immunizatins, vaccinatins, health screening, lab wrk, physicals, and illness and wrkplace injuries. The data must be detailed and meet internal and external reprting needs. Specific examples include the fllwing: 4

Many rganizatins require senir executives t have annual health screenings such as annual physicals and lab wrk, ften in cnjunctin with key man life insurance plicies that have been purchased t prtect the rganizatin in the event f an untimely death f an executive. Organizatins need the ability t track this critical infrmatin, as well as plan fr future tracking and scheduling. The Emplyee Health and Wellness Manager in Advanced Human Resurces enable cmprehensive tracking fr all emplyee immunizatins, vaccinatins and testing. Fr instance, these facilities hire physicians and nurses t staff their facilities. It is imperative that accurate and up-t-date license infrmatin be maintained and available at a mments ntice. In additin, these types f facilities are als required t track training fr the emplyees. Failure t maintain this infrmatin culd result in prblems with accreditatin and result in financial penalties and sanctins. Organizatins that are in the transprtatin business airlines, railrad, trucking, bus lines, and s n are required t maintain up-t-date infrmatin n certificatins, licensing, and training fr all emplyees. In many cases, specific licenses and certificatins are required fr emplyees that perate equipment. In additin, specific training is required t renew the required license and certificatin. Within Human Resurces in Micrsft Dynamics GP, emplyees can take training classes and wrkshps. Upn cmpletin, the emplyee can have skills r a skill set assigned t them. The Certificatin, License, and Training Manager in Advanced Human Resurces significantly increases the ability t track and manage critical emplyee infrmatin. These capabilities wrk in cnjunctin with the Human Resurces mdule and can be quickly cnfigured t meet specific needs. Features and benefits fr the Certificatin, License, and Training Manager in Advanced Human Resurces include the fllwing: Organizatins can stre and track unlimited certificatins, licensing, and training data within the Human Resurces database including expiratin and renewal dates fr certificatins and licenses. SmartLists can prvide reprts that meet internal and external needs and requirements. Organizatins can maintain certificatins, license and training requirements by department and psitin. Emplyees and managers can view persnal certificatin, licensing, and training infrmatin thrugh HRM Self Service Suite fr Micrsft Business Prtal. Changes are captured autmatically, with tracking f full histrical data fr certificatins, licenses and training. Benefits Enrllment Manager All rganizatins, large and small, face the daunting task f enrlling eligible emplyees in the varius benefit plans that are ffered as a part f their emplyment: Mst rganizatins have an pen enrllment perid, a windw f time when emplyees can enrll r change their enrllments in varius benefit prgrams, including medical, dental, visin, life, disability, and retirement. In many cases, the pen enrllment perid is scheduled prir t the start f the plan year; it is the time when emplyees are allwed t select cverage r make changes withut a qualifying status change. 6

7 New emplyees must be ffered benefit cverage at the time f hire r when they are eligible fr the cverage. This is nging and can be an enrmus prject t manage if the rganizatin is grwing and hiring a lt f emplyees. At the time f a qualifying status change, emplyees are given a 30 day windw t make changes t many benefits. The fllwing qualifying status changes are recgnized: Marriage Divrce r legal separatin Death f a spuse r a cvered dependent A cvered dependent is n lnger eligible fr cverage Birth, adptin, r placement fr adptin f a child Spuse becmes emplyed/unemplyed Change in emplyee s emplyment status Other changes permitted by the IRS r state Within each f these benefit enrllment perids, there is a tremendus amunt f infrmatin that needs t be given t the emplyee. In additin, questins must be answered, frms cmpleted, cmpleted enrllment frms reviewed, data entered int HR and Payrll systems, insurance carriers ntified. The prcess invlves a lt f wrk and the risk f cstly errrs and missins. Many f the steps are labrintensive and handled n a manual basis. It is estimated that benefit enrllment and related issues take up t 25 percent f time spent at wrk by HR and Payrll staff.
