3 Register for the App from Absa Benefits of downloading the App Now you can do these functions quickly and effectively from your tablet or smartphone: Locate ATMs and branches effortlessly via the GPS feature. Do quick calculations of returns on savings and investments. Calculate your monthly instalments for vehicle finance and home loans using our range of calculators. Get easy access to the latest exchange rates. Check your account balance and transaction history on the go. Do instant transfers of money between your Absa accounts. Pay your bills, friends or family quickly and easily. Add a photo of your beneficiaries so that you can find them easily. Buy prepaid airtime instantly for yourself or someone else. 4 How to download and register for the App from Absa Congratulations on deciding to bank the easy way with our App. Once you ve downloaded it, you ll see how having your bank at your fingertips will make your life so much easier. Follow these easy steps to get started Ensure that your 3G or Wi-Fi connection is enabled. Select the App Store icon on your device. Search for Absa. Tap on the Absa App icon to download it. 5 An Absa icon (red square with a white alpha sign) will appear on your device. 6 The App has been successfully installed onto your device. The App is accessible to the following devices/operating systems ios Apple OS 6 version upwards Android OS version 2.3 upwards BlackBerry OS 5 7 upwards BlackBerry Z10 Link the App to your Absa Online banking profile Now that you ve downloaded our App, you must link it to your Absa Online profile for security reasons. Here s how to do it: 1 2 Tap on the Absa icon to open the App. After the App has loaded, type in your Absa account number and PIN. 7 8 Accept the terms of use by clicking the tick-box, then select Next. Review your details then select Confirm. 9 You ll receive a SureCheck security message on your cellphone. 3 The message below will appear on the App: Type 1 to accept and continue. 5 6 Important note: Remember to link your device to Absa Online by accepting the next time you logon to Absa Online (internet banking). Tap on the Close button. Logon to Absa Online (AOL). Refer to page 7 of the Absa Online Guide for the logon process. The moment you re logged on this pop-up screen below will appear. Continue your transaction on Absa Online. Help? Type in the RVN (Random Verification Number) on your screen. Your device will show the message below on screen. 5 Make payments If you have accounts and bills that you pay regularly, register them as your beneficiaries, so you can pay them quickly. Add a beneficiary Logon to your App from Absa. Select the Payments icon. Select Add payment beneficiary. 2. Select the type of beneficiary (see below). If the beneficiary banks with Absa a. Enter the name of the beneficiary. b. Enter the account number. c. Enter your reference (what you call the account). d. Select whether or not you d like to receive a notice of payment. e. Enter the beneficiary reference (what appears on the beneficiary s account, e.g. your name, account number, etc.). f. Select whether or not you d like the beneficiary to receive a notice of payment. g. You can add a photo of your beneficiary (optional). If the beneficiary banks with another bank a. Enter the name of the beneficiary. b. Enter the name of the beneficiary s bank. c. Enter the branch name or code of your beneficiary s bank. d. Enter the account number. e. Select the account type. f. Enter your reference. g. Select whether or not you d like to receive a notice of payment. h. Enter the beneficiary reference (what appears on the beneficiary s account, e.g. your name, account number, etc.). i. Select whether you d like the beneficiary to receive a notice of payment. j. You can add a photo of your beneficiary (optional). k. Select whether or not you d like to add this beneficiary to your favourites. Absa App User Guide 5

6 If the beneficiary is a bill payment a. Enter the name of the beneficiary. b. Enter the institution code. c. Enter the bank account number. d. Enter your account number. e. Enter the accountholder s name. f. Enter your reference. g. Select whether or not you d like to receive a notice of payment. h. You can add a photo of your beneficiary (optional). i. Select whether or not you d like to add this beneficiary to your favourites. j. 7 Buy prepaid airtime Our App lets you buy airtime for any network at any time. You can buy for yourself, a family member or a friend and the account will be instantly credited. How to purchase once-off prepaid airtime 1. 1 Logon to the App from Absa Select the Payments icon at the bottom of the screen Select Buy once-off prepaid.. Complete the following: a. Select the account you wish to purchase from. b. Enter the cellphone number. c. Select the network provider. d. Select Airtime. e. Select the amount of airtime you d like to purchase. f. Select Next Confirm your details and select Next to continue The resulting screen will show whether the transaction was successful or unsuccessful. Absa App User Guide 7

8 Buy prepaid airtime (continued) How to purchase airtime for a beneficiary 1. 1 Logon to the App from Absa Select the Payments icon at the bottom of the screen Select Buy beneficiary prepaid.. Complete the following: a. Select the account you wish to purchase from. b. Select the beneficiary. c. Select Airtime. d. Select the amount of airtime you d like to purchase. e. Select Next Confirm your details and select Next to continue The resulting screen will show whether the transaction was successful or unsuccessful. Absa App User Guide 8

9 Use CashSend With CashSend from Absa, you can send cash to family or friends when they need it the most even if they don t have a bank account. How to send cash using once-off CashSend 1. 1 Logon to the App from Absa Select the Payments tab at the bottom of the screen Select the CashSend option.. Select Send Once-off CashSend.. Complete the following: 5 a. Select the account you wish to send money from. b. Enter the cellphone number of the recipient. c. Enter their first name. d. Enter their surname. e. Enter their nickname. f. Enter the amount to send. g. Enter a 6-digit ATM access PIN that will be sent to the recipient. h. Confirm the 6-digit ATM access PIN that will be sent to the recipient. i. Enter your reference. j. Select Accept terms of use. k. Select Next. Note: Read the full terms of use associated with CashSend services Confirm your details and select Send The resulting screen will show whether the transaction was successful or unsuccessful. Direct phonebook access: Access your phonebook directly from within the App when performing payment, prepaid and CashSend transactions. Account history: View your account history up to 28 days back in a calendar view. You can view transactions as far back as 180 days.
