Break 1. Health Management Associates Finance Breakout Jay Rosen, HMA This workshop will cover finance trends, areas of risk and follow-up Q&A from the morning plenary. 2. BH Treatment Data and Clinical Risk Events Price Pullins, Chief Psychologist Consultant, Office of Medical & Psychiatric Services, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Gail Parker, Quality Improvement Coordinator, Detroit Wayne Mental Health Authority Joyce Henderson, Quality Improvement Coordinator, Detroit Wayne Mental Health Authority Tracey Malin, Clinical Risk Officer, Genesee Health System Michigan Department of Community Health, Detroit Wayne Mental Health Authority and Genesee Health System. MDCH staff will discuss the overall data trends of PIHP s, trends regarding use of psychotropics to manage behavior, importance of utilizing a functional assessment in the development of behavior treatment plans, trends noted in self-harm, harm to others and use of 911 calls and ways to make the information gained more useful for everyone. They will also cover local practices in place to respond to near miss critical incident and other data relevant to incidents of clinical concern.

Device & Data Security: Minimizing IT Threats by Securing Sensitive Data through Desktop Virtualization Brian Barnes, Director of Technology and Architecture, Coretek Services RJ Armstrong, Client Executive, Coretek Services Traditional desktop management solutions do not provide adequate security for endpoint data, especially when it is stored or accessed remotely or on mobile devices such as laptops and USB drives, and many organizations are looking for a fundamentally better solution. As many organizations have discovered, mobile devices and employee-owned PCs also make it extremely difficult to enforce corporate policies, prevent data leakage or maintain the comprehensive audit trails necessary to demonstrate compliance with the ever growing number of government and industry regulations around the world. Lunch Plenary: Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities Administration Update Thomas Renwick, J.D., Director, Division of Program Development Consultation & Contracts, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services In a time of unprecedented change and challenges, Michigan continues to lead the nation in innovative care for persons with mental illness, substance use disorders and support of persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This plenary will provide the latest insights of the Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities Division from the perspectives of its Bureau of Community-Based Services Director, Tom Renwick. 4. Financial Reporting & Encounters (Part 1) Kathleen Haines, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services As a result of the analysis from MDCH and their actuary, Milliman, it is important to get consistency and completion of required data fields as this will impact future funding. This session will help attendees learn about financial and encounter reporting and analysis necessary to meet contractual obligations to improve reporting accuracy and consistency among CMHs. CFOs and those responsible for encounter reporting should attend and take advantage of this technical assistance opportunity. 5. Program Administrator of Health Services Innovations Brandie Hagaman, Integrated Health Supervisor, Washtenaw County Community Support & Treatment Services Michael Harding, Chief Information Officer, Washtenaw County Community Support & Treatment Services Ingemar Johansson, Chief Operating Officer, Centra Wellness Network Karl V. Kovacs, ACSW, MBA, Chief Executive Officer, Northern Lakes Community Mental Health Authority A panel discussion of the successes and challenges when implementing a Health Home within three different CMHs as part of the State Plan Amendment. This presentation will go over lessons learned related to measurement, finance, and IT changes made to make the Health Home successful.

This joint session with representatives of GLHC and MiHIN will help attendees understand the different roles of each in Michigan s healthcare market. Refreshment Break 7. Performance Improvement Project (PIP) Diane L. Bennett, CHC QI Coordinator/Compliance Officer, NorthCare Network Mary Marlatt-Dumas, LMSW, CAADC, Quality Manager, Northern Michigan Regional Entity Bill Phelps, Quality Improvement and Provider Network Coordinator, Lakeshore Regional Partners This workshop will cover current status of three of the HSAG performance improvement projects currently being implemented in the state. Review the PIP question and what interventions have been implemented at each PIHP. In addition the presenters will discuss their 2nd PIP project topic. 9. Six Months Later: Population Health Management & Data Analytics Roundtable Robert Schleichert, Chief Information Officer, Southwest Michigan Behavioral Health Jackie Sproat, CIO, CMH Partnership of Southeast Michigan Kathy Tilley, Chief Information Officer, Mid-State Health Network Moderator: Jason Radmacher, MBA, CEO, TBD Solutions Update from presenters in December about what their behavioral healthcare organizations are doing to add health plan capability and leveraging data analytics to improve population health: From risk mitigation to longitudinal health at the care coordination level. This moderated session will address the thinking, planning, and intended uses of PHM/DA solutions. Friday, May 29, 2015 Networking Breakfast Plan on attending, share breakfast and regional updates, network with colleagues (three groups): Finance, Quality Improvement and Information Systems. Talk about common challenges and identify topics for future conferences. Treatment Episode Data Set (TEDS) for Behavioral Health Phil Chvojka, BS, Departmental Specialist and DASIS Coordinator to SAMHSA, Performance Measurement and Evaluation, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Carol Hyso, Contracted BH-TEDS Coordinator TEDS is a foundational dataset that forms a basis for comparative, analysis-ready information and has been a cornerstone for MDCH engagement of substance use disorder treatment data since its inception in Michigan in TEDS data originated at SAMHSA and are reported to them under a sub-award agreement by all 50 states. TEDS for behavioral health offers several promising advantages, and is an upcoming requirement that this session will cover in greater detail.
