2 Biographies David Allard, MD, Chief Medical Information Officer, Henry Ford Health System and Health Network David is also the director of the Health and Business IT Training and Support department of the Henry Ford Health System, the arm responsible for training IT systems and informatics research. He has been project champion for several technology projects including electronic results notification, electronic prescriptions, automated preventive medicine prompting, voice recognition dictation, design of a proprietary EMR and Henry Ford s transition to the Epic EMR/registration and billing system. He has given talks on various topics regarding the adoption of health information technology at Lawrence Tech University, the American Medical Group Association, the CMS eprescribing initiative, the American Embassy in Copenhagen, Epic and the Michigan State Medical Society. David is also still a practicing family doctor. David received his Bachelors Degree from the University of Notre Dame and his MD from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. He did his family medicine residency and was chief resident of family medicine at Henry Ford Hospital and was Physician in Charge at Henry Ford Royal Oak from 1998 through In 2006 he received the Joseph Ponka Caring Physician Award for the HFMG Northern Region. He has received the HFHS Focus On People Award twice. David is board certified Sue Schade, Chief Information Officer, University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Centers Sue serves as the Chief Information Officer for the University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Centers (UMHHC) having assumed this position in November, The UMHHC includes 3 hospitals totaling 990 beds and over 120 clinics throughout Michigan and beyond. The UMHHC along with the U-M Medical School, which comprises the University of Michigan Health System (UMHS), is committed to creating the future of health care through discovery and becoming the national leader in health care, health care reform, biomedical innovation and education. In her role, Sue provides direction and oversight to information technology initiatives at UMHHC and works closely with the CIO for the U-M Medical School and collaborates with the University of Michigan CIO on shared infrastructure initiatives. Under her leadership, UMHS made the HealthCare s Most Wired list in 2015 and achieved the HIMSS Analytics EMR Adoption Model Stage 6 in Sue has nearly 30 years experience in health care information technology management. Prior to joining UMHS, she served for over 12 years as the CIO for Brigham and Women s Hospital, a founding member of the Partners HealthCare System in Boston, MA. Her previous experience includes 12 years in positions of increasing management responsibility at a large integrated delivery system in the Chicago area. She led the software division for a start-up healthcare

3 software and outsourcing services vendor for several years and worked as a senior manager in the health care information technology practice at Ernst and Young. An active member of HIMSS and CHIME, Sue served on the CHIME Board from 2004 to She was responsible for their Advocacy initiatives focusing on the national healthcare information technology agenda and fostering CHIME s partnerships with other national organizations. She chaired the CHIME Education Foundation Board from 2006 to She served on the HIMSS Advocacy and Public Policy Steering Committee from Schade achieved fellow status with both HIMSS and CHIME. She is currently serving on the board of AAMI and on the CHIME Policy Steering Committee. Sue is active in Michigan HIE efforts, serving on the GLHC and MiHIN boards. She is a regular speaker and writer within the HIT industry. She holds an MBA degree from Illinois Benedictine College in Lisle, Illinois. Paul Peabody, Vice President, Information Technology and Chief Information Officer, Bronson Healthcare Paul is vice president, information technology and chief information officer (CIO) for Bronson Healthcare. He joined Bronson in the fall of Paul is a highly experienced healthcare CIO and has installed and worked extensively with the EPIC electronic health records platform. He specializes in all aspects of healthcare operations, project management, information systems and software development. He most recently served as CIO for Palomar Health in San Diego, California. Prior to that he held the position of vice president, healthcare business development at Oracle Corporation. The majority of Paul s career was served at Beaumont Health System in metro Detroit where he held various leadership positions, including VP & CIO, for more than 30 years. In 1986, during his career at Beaumont; he implemented one of the first bedside based Electronic Health Record systems in the U.S. that connected over 2000 physicians in their homes and offices.

4 Paul is active in numerous Health Industry Councils and is a Board Member of Kettering University. Paul earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Michigan. Jim Lee, Vice President Data Policy Jim has over 25 years of experience in both information technology and data research. He leads the Michigan Health & Hospital Association Data Services division which is responsible for the data collection and development of the Michigan inpatient (MIDB) and outpatient database. The MIDB is the most comprehensive and complete claims database in the state for hospital care. Jim s division has also developed numerous patient safety and quality reporting systems designed to help improve patient care in hospitals. He leads the association s efforts on hospital price and quality transparency and heath information technology policy and regulatory issues. Jim has served on the governor s Health Information Technology Commission and is a member of the Michigan Healthcare Cybersecurity Council and is a board member of the Michigan Health Information Network (MiHIN). Moderator Dann Lemerand, FHIMSS, Director, Healthcare Industry & Solution Strategy, Infor Dann R. Lemerand, FHIMSS is an 18-year veteran of Healthcare IT and is currently the Director of Healthcare Industry & Solution Strategy at Infor, a $3B IT Services Company and most notably the owner of Lawson and the Cloverleaf Interface Engine. In his role at Infor, he provides leadership and direction for Infor s overall healthcare strategy and helps clients and partners align solutions to extend their value. Dann is a Past President of the Michigan Chapter of HIMSS and has served on the Michigan HIMSS Board of Directors for over 10 years and is a HIMSS National Fellow. Dann is an Adjunct Professor of HIT and serves on numerous boards and advisory committees in healthcare and information technology. Dann served honorably on active-duty in the US Navy and is a Veteran of Operation Desert Storm.
